New 'Game of Thrones' Images Tease Calm Before the Storm in Episode 3 of Final Season

Take a peek at these new telling images!

The battle for Winterfell is almost here.

On Wednesday, HBO dropped a series of new images teasing how everyone's favorite Game of Thrones characters are preparing for what is rumored to be the most massive on-screen clash in TV history. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Viewers of episode two, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, know that women and children are going to be corralled in the castle's crypt, which houses the remains of deceased members of the Stark family, which seems deeply problematic considering the Night King's ability to raise the dead.

However, the new images seem to confirm that Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) does end up holed up in the underground crypt alongside Varys (Conleth Hill), despite his protests. The pair appear to be listening closely as they wait in a dark stone hallway.

The images also show Ser Brienne of Tarth, the first-ever female knight of Westeros, preparing to fight off the undead alongside her old travel companion, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), who asked to serve under her soon after arriving in the North.

In yet another, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) gives her younger sister, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), an unsettling look as the they stand behind a parapet, which can overlook the surrounding area.

However, far and away the most fascinating and telling image from the collection is that of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) looking down at the fortress from a distant hill as the White Walker's army grows ever closer to the army of the living.

When episode two ended, the couple was also up on a lookout atop the castle. The only explanation for how they managed to get so far from the impending fight is the queen's two remaining dragons. This seems to confirm that, at least for a time, Dany and Jon will be battling their icy invaders from high in the sky.

Alongside the wave of reunions in the latest episode (not to mention Jon telling Dany that he is also a Targaryen), viewers also caught the moment Arya loses her virginity to Gendry (Joe Dempsie) before the battle begins. The moment turned out to be one of the most buzzworthy scenes in the episode, eliciting reactions from fans -- and cast members!

"In honor of Easter, I guess Game of Thrones wanted the storyline to have a little Easter bunny hop hop hoppin' into that p***y... And that's the tea," Turner proclaimed on her Instagram Story while sipping some wine after the scene aired.

On Tuesday, Williams herself shared a response to the moment, writing, "If u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too."

Although it's been a little while since GoT delivered the shocking death of a beloved character (a device that the show has mastered), fans are predicting that will change in the action-packed next episode.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
