<p>Few roles in Hollywood are as sought after as the Joker. Ever since Cesar Romero took the job of the Clown Prince of Crime in the '60s small-screen series, <em>Batman</em>, the maniacal antihero has attracted the cream of the acting crop and yielded some iconic performances.</p>

<p>More recently,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/joaquin-phoenix" target="_blank">Joaquin Phoenix</a>&nbsp;brought Batman's arch-nemesis to the big screen in the original origin story, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/latest/movies/joker" target="_blank"><em>Joke</em>r</a>. "It was complex in a way that other movies I flirted with weren't," <a href="https://www.etonline.com/joaquin-phoenix-lost-over-50-pounds-for-joker-inside-his-epic-transformation-exclusive-133166" target="_blank">Phoenix told ET</a> of why he was drawn to the role. "I thought that it was gonna be challenging for me as an actor. I thought it was gonna be challenging for the audience. And that's exciting to me."</p>

<p>In honor of <em>The Dark Knight Rises'</em>&nbsp;11th anniversary on July 20, 2023, here's a look back at Heath Ledger's iconic role and all the Jokers who came before and after him.</p>

<p><strong>9. Various Voice Actors in Various Animated Batman Projects</strong></p>

However, the unhinged look and unique physicality required of this role are just too important to ignore here -- with a few exceptions to come.</p>

<p>OK, OK, yes, the Joker never <em>technically</em> appeared on Fox's <em>Gotham</em>. However, Monaghan did portray twin criminals, Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska, who share <em>more than a few </em>similarities with Batman's ultimate foe. (<a href="https://twitter.com/cameronmonaghan/status/995422386437570560" target="_blank">Licensing issues</a> seemingly kept the Valeskas from officially being referred to as Joker.) Still, Monaghan's transformation into the scourge of Batman's city is exceedingly watchable, what with his scarred mug and eerie laugh.</p>

<p><strong>7.&nbsp;Zach Galifianakis in <em>The Lego Batman Movie</em> (2017)</strong></p>

<p>Galifianakis lent his voice to the creepy clown for this <em>Lego Movie</em> spinoff and delivers a handful of outstanding lines. ("Hold on a sec. Are you trying to tell me that Bruce Wayne is Batman...'s roommate?!") But while most iterations of the Joker capitalized on his most horrifying qualities, Galifianakis crafted a family-friendly foil to Batman that is clever, but largely forgettable.</p>

<p>Romero delivered pure camp in the role, with white facepaint slathered over his mustache and a penchant for creating chaos in Gotham City, often while singing! Though his take informed so many of the Jokers that followed, it's now so far removed from the darker and grittier foe we know today that they might as well be completely different characters.</p>

<p><strong>5. Jared Leto in <em>Suicide Squad </em>(2016)</strong></p>

<p>In a film about bad guys -- a hitman, a psychopathic psychiatrist, a crocodile humanoid -- Leto's Joker remains a deadly wild card and the most dangerous criminal in the mix. This incarnation is hip yet animalistic, grounded yet nightmarish. Leto and director David Ayer took elements from the comics and amped up the octane. Still, you'll likely end up wondering why he was in the movie at all.</p>

<p>When bringing the Dark Knight to the big screen for the first time, director Tim Burton tapped Nicholson, a seasoned Oscar winner, to dance with the devil in the pale moonlight. His Jester of Genocide chews up the scenery with a twisted sense of pleasure and just a touch of Jack Torrance in <em>The Shining.</em> As it were, his gleefully demented crimes were just a taste of things to come.</p>

<p>Hamill rises above the medium, having provided the Ace of Knaves his distinctive cackle for so many years -- starting with <em>The Animated Series</em> in the early '90s before <em>Arkham Asylum</em> and, most recently, <em>Batman: The Killing Joke</em> in 2016 -- that he has become synonymous with the role, without having ever appeared onscreen. Here's how beloved Hamill's Joker is: During an appearance at 2016's Star Wars Celebration, it wasn't a Luke Skywalker reference that had fans <a href="http://www.etonline.com/news/193399_mark_hamill_performs_dialogue_from_batman_the_killing_joke_and_everyone_went_crazy/" target="_blank">losing their minds</a> -- it was witnessing Hamill laughing as the Joker, live in person.</p>

<p>From his <a href="https://www.etonline.com/how-joaquin-phoenix-perfected-his-joker-laugh-exclusive-133531" target="_blank">unforgettable laugh</a> to his <a href="https://www.etonline.com/joaquin-phoenix-lost-over-50-pounds-for-joker-inside-his-epic-transformation-exclusive-133166" target="_blank">sinewy, unrecognizable frame</a>, Phoenix crafted a&nbsp;'70s-tinged Joker with a quiet menace and heartbreaking vulnerability. There's dimensions here, both light and dark, that have never been a part of the character's story onscreen until now. With a glint in his eye and some grandiose dance moves, Phoenix delivered a wholly unnerving take on the endearing madman -- one that won't soon be forgotten.</p>

<p>This may seem like an easy choice to top the list -- the role posthumously won Ledger the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor -- but that's only because it is an easy choice. It's more than the Oscar, though. Ledger, the crooked-grinned movie star of films like <em>10 Things I Hate About You</em>, was nowhere to be seen in the film. He'd transformed, giving moviegoers a mesmerizing villain the likes of which had not been seen before.</p>

<p>Ledger and director Christopher Nolan offered a character as anarchistic as he was brilliant, as utterly captivating as he was terrifying. As much as it chills us to say, he put a smile on our faces.</p>

'The Dark Knight Rises' Turns 11: Heath Ledger and Every Actor Who Has Played the Joker

<p>Prepare for the feels, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/schitts-creek" target="_blank"><em>Schitt's Creek</em></a> fans.</p>

<p>ET's Ash Crossan caught up with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/emily-hampshire" target="_blank">Emily Hampshire</a>, a.k.a. Stevie Budd,&nbsp;in Los Angeles during one of&nbsp;the show's pop-up tour, and she spilled some details on the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/schitts-creek-to-end-after-sixth-season-121897" target="_blank">sixth and final season of the series</a>,&nbsp;hinting&nbsp;that things, at least in part, will end on a somber note.</p>

<p>"You can expect it to rip your heart out," she teased. "But honestly, I have so much respect for Dan [Levy, co-star and co-creator] for doing this because it is hard on us that we have to end it. But, we also know he's ended it so well. Like, he could not give the fans a better ending to the show."</p>

<p>Hampshire added, "It's funny and joyous and also your heart breaks and then you love them and then…Yeah."</p>

<p>When asked if she's happy with Stevie's fate on the show, the 38-year-old actress stated,&nbsp;"Yes, thank God, because I would have been so disappointed if I wasn't. I just, like, every year, I feel like it can't get better. I'm constantly surprised by where Stevie goes."</p>

<p>"Like, last year, to do cabaret. [I] did not think Stevie would be doing a musical," she continued, discussing the big season five finale. "So, I was worried that that was the penultimate thing and it was all downhill from there for my character and it [was] just perfect."</p>

<p>The leading lady also playfully hinted that the series is upping its game in the wardrobe department for the show's last outing.</p>

<p>"I don't know what I'm allowed to say, so I'm going to say something and if I'm not allowed to say it, it's your fault," Hampshire joked. "Stevie might actually, in season six, wear a lot of more tailored things."</p>

<p>"I'm not saying there's a wedding. I'm not saying that," she added, possibly referencing Patrick (Noah Reid) and David's (Dan Levy) engagement on the show. "It's just so good. Also, you won't be disappointed wig-wise. 'Cause, if you think season one, two, three, four and five had a significant amount of wigs, wait 'til you see season six."</p>

<p>Though the series largely focuses on the riches-to-rags story of the Rose family adapting to small-town life, characters like Stevie have become fan favorites over the years. During the chat, Hampshire also took a moment to remember when she realized the <em>Schitt's Creek</em> fan base was growing and viewers were starting to approach her about the show.</p>

<p>"I came back to L.A. and went into Bed, Bath and Beyond and I was, like, accosted with so many people who loved the show and it was crazy 'cause it was all in Bed, Bath and Beyond… the Beyond section," she shared.</p>

<p>The sixth and final season of <em>Schitt's Creek</em> premieres Jan. 7 on Pop TV.</p>

'Schitt's Creek' Star Emily Hampshire Says Final Season Will 'Rip Your Heart Out' (Exclusive)

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/matthew-mcconaughey" target="_blank">Matthew McConaughey</a> and director Guy Ritchie have a new rock 'em, sock 'em crime caper on the way!</p>

<p><em>The Gentlemen&nbsp;</em>is a star-studded film that explores&nbsp;London's seedy underbelly, with its tongue firmly tucked in its cheek. McConaughey plays Mickey Pearson, an American who has made a fortune selling cannabis in the U.K. But now the sharks are circling and Mickey has to fight off anyone and everyone who's trying to swindle him or take over his business.</p>

<p>The trailer teases all manner of devious machinations including Fletcher (Hugh Grant) snapping photos with a telephoto lens, Mickey exchanging some heated words with Henry Golding's character and Coach (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/colin-farrell" target="_blank">Colin Farrell</a>) pulling a man out of a car trunk alongside Ray (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/charlie-hunnam" target="_blank">Charlie Hunnam</a>).</p>

<p>"In the jungle, the only way a lion survives [is] not by acting like the king," McConaughey explains in the voice over. "By being the king."</p>

<p>The trailer also features tons and tons&nbsp;of gunplay from Golding, Hunnam and <em>Downton Abbey</em>'s Michelle Dockery. That doesn't include McConaughey at one point ducking down in the back of a car as its riddled with bullets.</p>

Matthew McConaughey Navigates London's Criminal Underworld in 'The Gentlemen'

<p>Grab your popcorn! It's time to look back on the year that was.</p>

<p>Over the past 365 days, moviegoers were treated to a seemingly never-ending lineup of films, big and small, in every genre, all competing to win the box office and streaming wars and eyeballs everywhere. And while the impending awards season will lay claim to the best of the best in film -- with February's Oscars crowning <a href="https://www.etonline.com/oscar-predictions-25-movies-you-need-to-see-before-the-2020-academy-awards-133987" target="_blank">this year's top honors</a> -- we have a few thoughts on what worked and what didn't work on the big screen in 2019.</p>

<p><strong>Best Picture: </strong>The <em>Cats</em> trailer. No cinema was more thought-provoking, no film was more widely discussed, no motion picture was more upsetting, hilarious, brilliant, digital fur technology-fulled than <a href="https://www.etonline.com/cats-official-trailer-drops-with-taylor-swift-idris-elba-and-more-in-digital-fur-128835" target="_blank">the first trailer</a> for director Tom Hooper's <em>Cats</em>. The mystery that that has. The Bombalurina that that has. The Jellicle implicates that it has.</p>

<p><strong>Best Actress:&nbsp;</strong><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/florence-pugh" target="_blank">Florence Pugh</a>, who kicked some series tuchus in the underrated wrestling comedy, <em>Fighting With My Family</em>, went to truly WTF places in <em>Midsommar</em> and finally got justice for Amy March in <em>Little Women</em>. And, while it doesn't arrive until 2020, we also got our first look at her in full Marvel mode in <a href="https://www.etonline.com/scarlett-johansson-fights-family-in-first-black-widow-trailer-137315" target="_blank">the <em>Black Widow</em> trailer</a>. The Pugh Crew ate well this year.</p>

<p><strong>Best Actor: </strong><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/adam-driver" target="_blank">Adam Driver</a>. Our favorite big boi delivered chef's kiss performances in everything from high-brow zombie comedies (<em>The Dead Don't Die</em>) to tentpole space operas (<em>Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker</em>) and so many awards season contenders in between, like <em>The Report</em> and <em>Marriage Story</em>. (The latter of which also birthed the year's best movie memes.)</p>

<p><strong>Best Alien:&nbsp;</strong>Babu Frik from <em>The Rise of Skywalker</em>. While overall opinions on Episode IX may be split, there is one thing all <em>Star Wars</em> fans can agree on: Babu Frik is the best thing that's ever happened to any of us. The name-dropping droidsmith is our little boyfriend and we love him. (More than Baby Yoda? We're not trying to start flame wars here.)</p>

<p><strong>Best Supporting Alien:&nbsp;</strong>Goose from <em>Captain Marvel</em>. (At 75, she's been a working actress in China since she was a teenager, but here in Hollywood, we've finally caught on.)</p>

<p><strong>Best Dad:&nbsp;</strong><em>Ford v Ferrari</em> may have raised us, put a roof over our head and food in our bellies and taught us how to drive, but Chris Cooper's dual performances in <em>A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood</em> and <em>Little Women</em> are the father figures we've been searching for. Especially in the latter, in which just thinking of Mr. Laurence's scenes with Beth brings a tear to our eye.</p>

<p><strong>Best Daddy:</strong> If you don't know the difference between these two superlatives, what were you doing in 2019, the indisputable Year of the Daddy? Anyway, the daddy nominees include <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jake-gyllenhaal" target="_blank">Jake Gyllenhaal</a> and his beard in <em>Spider-Man: Far From Home</em> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jennifer-lopez" target="_blank">Jennifer Lopez</a> in <em>Hustlers</em>, but even in a not-so-great <em>Hellboy</em> reboot, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/david-harbour" target="_blank">David Harbour</a> still <a href="https://www.etonline.com/media/videos/david-harbour-on-who-would-win-a-hellboy-vs-thanos-showdown-exclusive-123131" target="_blank">proved more daddy</a> than the rest.</p>

<p><strong>Superhero Moment of the Year:&nbsp;</strong>Jennifer Lopez's pole dance in <em>Hustlers</em>. The introduction of Ramona is the stuff of cinema history, with J.Lo twirling, clapping, flipping and motor boating while money showers down upon her. If it wasn't already, Fiona Apple's "Criminal" is now a god-tier strip club anthem. This dance alone is worthy of an Academy Award; that Lopez turns out a career-best performance on top of it is why she is, in fact, the frontrunner for the Oscar.</p>

<p><strong>Superhero Moment of the Year (Runner-up):</strong> "Avengers, assemble!" There was no bigger superhero movie in 2019 -- and ultimately, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/avengers-endgame-dethrones-avatar-as-highest-grossing-film-of-all-time-129008" target="_blank">no bigger movie ever</a> -- than <em>Avengers: Endgame</em>. And of all the big moments within it (snapping and time travel and Smart Hulk), hearing Chris Evans' Captain America finally speak those two words as every single one of our favorite heroes came together onscreen was worth the 22-film wait.</p>

If you're looking for a biopic about Fred Rogers, might we suggest the excellent 2018 documentary <em>Won't You Be My Neighbor?</em> Now, if you want to see how America's most beloved children's television host (as played by America's most beloved actor, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/tom-hanks" target="_blank">Tom Hanks</a>) touched one man's life, check out this adaptation of journalist Tom Junod's profile on Mister Rogers. It's the sort of true story that makes you believe in the power of people again.</p>

<p><strong>Best Not-So-True Story:&nbsp;</strong><em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood</em>. For <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/quentin-tarantino" target="_blank">Quentin Tarantino</a>'s ninth film, he revists a turning point in American culture -- the summer of '69 and the infamous Manson Family murders -- but with a quintessentially Tarantino twist on it. The entire film is a blend of history and the imaginary, but like I<em>nglourious Basterds</em> before it, <em>OUATIH</em> culminates with a <a href="https://www.etonline.com/once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-breaking-down-that-shocking-ending-129289" target="_blank">final bit of revisionist history</a> that changes everything we thought we knew, especially for <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/quentin-tarantino" target="_blank">Margot Robbie</a>'s Sharon Tate.</p>

<p><strong>Best Worst Movie Twist:&nbsp;</strong><em>Serenity</em> saw <a href="https://www.etonline.com/so-did-you-guess-the-big-twist-in-last-christmas-135853" target="_blank"><em>Last Christmas</em>' twist ending</a> and said, "Hold my beer." This wackadoodle psychological thriller -- which begins as a gritty noir about a fisherman with a dark past (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/matthew-mcconaughey" target="_blank">Matthew McConaughey</a>) and an enigmatic femme fatale (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/anne-hathaway" target="_blank">Anne Hathaway</a>) -- delivers the sort of twist you could never see coming, on account of it being simultaneously so incredible and so dumb that how would anyone ever think of it? (We won't out-and-out spoil it here, because if you haven't seen it yet, you must.)</p>

<p><strong>The "Big Lebowski" Award for Scene on Drugs:&nbsp;</strong><em>Booksmart</em>. All sorts of characters were tripping b*lls on the big screen this year -- among them, a Hollywood stuntman, rock legend Elton John and the Secretary of State -- but no trip was trippier than the <em>Booksmart</em> gals' plastic fantastic journey on "Asian-huasca." At a hoity-toity party hosted by the theater kids, Beanie Feldstein's Molly and Kaitlyn Dever's Amy eat some laced strawberries and wake up as 12-inch sexified versions of themselves. The phrase "put your heel in my hole" is uttered more than once.</p>

<p><strong>Boldest Accent Choice:</strong> In a year that saw <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/scarlett-johansson" target="_blank">Scarlett Johansson</a> speak German-ish in <em>Jojo Rabbit</em> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/robert-pattinson" target="_blank">Robert Pattinson</a> try his hand at French for <em>The King</em>, the Southern drawl that the very British <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/daniel-craig" target="_blank">Daniel Craig</a> chose for his <em>Knives Out</em> sleuth, Benoit Blanc, takes the cake. Here's hoping writer-director Rian Johnson follows through on sequels centered on Craig's scenery-chewing detective, if only to hear that dripping Southern twang again.</p>

<p><strong>Best Supporting Hair:&nbsp;</strong><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/timothee-chalamet" target="_blank">Timothée Chalamet</a> in <em>Little Women</em>. Timmy T was truly the Theodore Laurence we needed in 2019, and no scene from Greta Gerwig's adaptation makes that more apparent than the windswept, hillside moment where he and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/saoirse-ronan" target="_blank">Saoirse Ronan</a>'s Jo finally "have it out" about their will-they-won't-they dynamic. As Laurie pleads his case, his hair is doing some incredible acting of its own, sticking out in all directions as an outward reflection of his inner heartbreak.</p>

<p><strong>Boldest Wig Choice:</strong> It's a tie! <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/nicole-kidman" target="_blank">Nicole Kidman</a> in <em>Bombshell</em> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/nicole-kidman" target="_blank">Nicole Kidman</a> in <em>The Goldfinch</em>, with an honorable mention for her television wig work in season two of <em>Big Little Lies</em>. For the fourth year running, the follicly-audacious actress has ventured into the synthetic unknown for character wigs -- a blonde bob for Gretchen Carlson, a graying number for Mrs. Barbour -- and earned her place as 2019's top wig wearer.</p>

<p><strong>Best Use of Keanu Reeves:&nbsp;</strong><em>Always Be My Maybe</em>. This year saw the fruits of the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/keanu-reeves" target="_blank">Keanussance</a>, but nothing put Reeves back on the map quite like his cameo role in Ali Wong and Randall Park's Netflix rom-com playing a heightened (we think?) version of himself. (As far as Reeves cameos go, we also loved his performance as a zen tumbleweed in the trailer for <em>The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run</em>.)</p>

<p><strong>Worst Use of Keanu Reeves:&nbsp;</strong><em>Replicas</em>. Keanu Reeves checked so many boxes for us this year -- doing his hitman thing in <em>John Wick: Chapter 3</em>, doing his Canadian thing in <em>Toy Story 4</em>, doing his Keanu thing in <em>Always Be My Maybe</em> -- but when it came to doing perhaps the thing he is most noted for, his sci-fi thing? Let's just say we're relieved there is <a href="https://www.etonline.com/keanu-reeves-has-already-read-the-matrix-4-script-and-says-its-very-ambitious-exclusive-133148" target="_blank">another <em>Matrix</em> movie</a> on the horizon, because <em>Replicas</em> wasn't it.</p>

We expected to spend all our time rewatching MCU movies and old DCOMs (and, yes, <em>Smart House</em> holds up), but the true surprise of Disney+ has been their original films: <em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-true-story-of-togo-inside-disneys-sled-dog-drama-starring-willem-dafoe-exclusive-138083" target="_blank">Togo</a></em>&nbsp;is well worth the watch (and ensuing cry) and we were delighted by how cute we found the Anna Kendrick-starring Christmas movie, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/how-noelle-puts-a-modern-feminist-twist-on-the-christmas-classic-set-visit-135995" target="_blank"><em>Noelle</em></a>.</p>

<p><strong>Biggest Disney Minus:&nbsp;</strong>The House of Mouse has also made some -- how should we put this? -- <em>questionable</em> choices this year, especially with its live-action (or "live action") remakes. Like how Beyoncé voiced Nala and recorded a new song for <em>The Lion King</em>, but didn't sing an original song as Nala? Or how Michael Keaton's <em>Dumbo</em> villain was basically an evil Walt Disney? But perhaps head-scratchiest of all was that the true star of <em>Aladdin</em> was... Will Smith's Genie? Who is horny this time?</p>

<p><strong>Best Animated Movie:&nbsp;</strong><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/robert-de-niro" target="_blank">Robert De Niro</a>'s face in <em>The Irishman</em>. 2019 was the year of de-aging, starting with <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/samuel-l-jackson" target="_blank">Samuel L. Jackson</a>'s youthful turn in <em>Captain Marvel</em> and capping off with <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/martin-scorsese" target="_blank">Martin Scorsese</a>'s technologically-impressive digital restorations of the very-recognizable faces of De Niro, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/joe-pesci" target="_blank">Joe Pesci</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/al-pacino" target="_blank">Al Pacino</a>. (Meanwhile, the award for Best Irishman goes to <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/saoirse-ronan" target="_blank">Saoirse Ronan</a>.)</p>

<p><strong>The "HOW HAVE YOU NOT SEEN IT YET?!" Movie of 2019:&nbsp;</strong><em>Parasite</em>. Few movies in recent years have had audiences buzzing like director Bong Joon Ho's darkly comedic parable of wealth, class and scamming. If you haven't seen <em>Parasite</em> yet, get thee to a theater, because this won't be the last you hear of it. A Korean film has yet to be nominated for the Academy's Best International Feature Film Film, let alone <a href="https://www.etonline.com/2020-oscar-predictions-best-picture-137435" target="_blank">Best Picture</a>. That is set to change this year.</p>

<p><strong>Movie Quote of the Year:</strong> The films recounted on this list have made indelible additions to the pantheon of oft-quoted movie lines -- "You're Rick f**king Dalton" from <em>Once Upon a Time in Hollywood</em>&nbsp;and "And I'm Iron Man" from <em>Avengers: Endgame</em> -- but the quote of the year simply must go to Jennifer Lopez, for this perfectly scripted and delivered line from <em>Hustlers</em>: "Doesn't money make you horny?"</p>

Remember Distracted Boyfriend and Side-Eye Chloe? These Are the Very Best Memes of the Decade

<p>James Bond is back!</p>

<p>On Wednesday, the action-packed&nbsp;first trailer was released for <em>No Time to Die</em>, the upcoming 25th installment in the beloved 007 franchise, showcasing <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/daniel-craig" target="_blank">Daniel Craig</a> once again reprising the role of Britain's most famous super spy -- and this time he's in the fight of his life.</p>

<p>As expected, the trailer features Bond&nbsp;defying death at every turn. He's leaping off ancient stone bridges, firing at oncoming assailants with high-tech hidden guns in his Aston Martin and contending with a new mysterious masked villain, played by none other than <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/rami-malek" target="_blank">Rami Malek</a>.</p>

<p>Also featured in the trailer&nbsp;is Dr. Madeleine Swann, Bond's love interest from <em>Spectre</em>, played by Lea Seydoux. Ominously, Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Christoph Waltz), the last Bond villain,&nbsp;is also briefly showcased in lockup, stating, "When her secret finds its way&nbsp;out, it will be the death of you."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The decade-spanning franchise's newest Bond girls, Ana de Armas and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/lashana-lynch" target="_blank">Lashana Lynch</a>, are also featured in the new clip, with&nbsp;the latter said to be taking up the iconic 007 code name in the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica," a previous press release stated, sharing the film's plot. "His peace is short-lived when his old friend, Felix Leiter, from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."</p>

<p>After the trailer dropped, the film's stars and director Cary Fukunaga all appeared on <em><a href="https://youtu.be/QobvQTha2ls" target="_blank">Good Morning America</a>,</em> where Lynch was asked about the hearsay that she's taking up Bond's code name, to which she playfully shrugged and stated,&nbsp;"She's definitely a 00 agent, for sure. Skillful. Swift. Suave. And she's got a bunch of attitude and she just comes with a whole lot of shaking up in this franchise for sure."</p>

<p>During the chat, Malek was asked about his baddie and broken&nbsp;mask, to which he did his best to keep his lips sealed.</p>

<p>"I can tell you nothing about that!" Malek said of the mask. "In April, you will see all of that. Like&nbsp;[producer Barbara Broccoli] said, 'a nasty piece of work.' It's a very unnerving character and I get to face off with this man [Craig] in a battle, I think, of epic proportions."&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Recently, the film's character posters have also been released showing Craig, Lynch, de Armas, Ben Whishaw,&nbsp;Seydoux and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/rami-malek" target="_blank">Malek</a>.</p>

<p>ET spoke with Craig in April at late Bond author Ian Fleming's Jamaican villa -- aptly named Goldeneye -- when the cast of the latest&nbsp;installment of the film franchise was announced. Although Craig is returning to play 007 for the fifth time, he told ET this <a href="https://www.etonline.com/daniel-craig-weighs-in-on-who-should-play-james-bond-next-exclusive-124075" target="_blank">will most likely be his last turn as the characte</a>r.</p>

<p>"This is going to be my last <em>Bond</em> I think," he said. "I think I've done enough, people are going to get sick of the sight of me. Someone else should have a go."</p>

<p>"I think that's what it should be," he said. "I think that everybody should be considered. For women and for African Americans, there should be great parts anyway, across the board. It shouldn't have to be Bond that takes ... it doesn't need to be Bond. It just needs to be written -- some good parts."</p>

<p><em>No Time to Die</em> arrives in theaters on April 10, 2020.</p>

'No Time to Die': Daniel Craig Returns as James Bond in Explosive First Trailer

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/henry-cavill" target="_blank">Henry Cavill</a> says he isn't done playing the Man of Steel -- and he has some ideas on where he'd like to see the out-of-this-world character go next.</p>

<p>On Tuesday, ET's Lauren Zima spoke with the 36-year-old actor at the press day for his upcoming Netflix series, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-witcher-first-look-at-henry-cavill-as-geralt-of-rivia-112669" target="_blank"><em>The Witcher</em></a>, where he confirmed that he wants to continue portraying Superman and opened up about his hopes for the superhero's next outing on the big screen.</p>

<p>"I'd like to delve more into the aspect of Superman [that] we traditionally know, coupled with where we left him with <em>Man of Steel</em>," Cavill explained. "It's the hero who is trying to exist in a world where people may say he's not relevant anymore --&nbsp;where, actually, he's extraordinarily relevant and it's him coming to terms with that and becoming that relevance and showing people that hope does exist without it being too chocolate box."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The leading man added: "I wanted to still have an edge but to have some warmth to it and to have some hope to it."&nbsp;</p>

<p>These comments arrive exactly a week after a report surfaced that DC and Warner Bros. are confounded as to how they intend to make Superman palatable to modern audiences after the success of less traditional superhero films like <em>Joker</em> and <em>Shazam!</em>&nbsp;With no script or director attached to a Superman project, it's unlikely a film will arrive in theaters before 2023, according to <a href="https://variety.com/2019/film/news/dc-comics-superman-michael-b-jordan-green-lantern-aquaman-birds-of-prey-1203415757/" target="_blank"><em>Variety</em></a>.</p>

<p>At the <em>Aquaman</em> premiere in December 2018, Jason Momoa <a href="https://www.etonline.com/jason-momoa-says-henry-cavill-is-absolutely-not-leaving-superman-character-exclusive-115758" target="_blank">echoed Cavill's sentiments</a>, telling ET: "I just talked to Henry... He's absolutely not [leaving the character]. He loves the character. He's not. One hundred percent."&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Tuesday, Cavill also discussed how portraying his character in <em>The Witcher</em>, Geralt of Rivia, varies in comparison to Superman, especially when it comes to training in the gym.</p>

<p>"They are the same but different," he said of the two roles. "The biggest similarity and the most taxing thing is always gonna be time. It's just about getting that training each day and forcing yourself to do it. You finished a very long shift and you were there two hours early, two and a half hours early, for your hair and makeup, and then you have to go to the gym."</p>

<p>In the series, Geralt is a solitary monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a world populated with unimaginable creatures and mortals with nefarious agendas. <p>During the interview, Cavill also discussed the numerous comparisons <em>The Witcher</em> is already facing with another fantasy series -- <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/game-of-thrones" target="_blank"><em>Game of Thrones</em></a>.</p>

<p>"I think comparisons are always gonna be made and it's fun," he responded. "It's fine when they're two ends of a spectrum in a fantasy genre. But that's like saying someone's going to be the next Tom Cruise. No one's going to be the next Tom Cruise."</p>

<p><em>The Witcher </em>premieres Dec. 20 on Netflix.&nbsp;</p>

Henry Cavill on His Vision for How Superman Would Come Back (Exclusive)

<p>The circumstances of <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/justin-hartley" target="_blank">Justin Hartley</a>'s divorce from Chrishell Stause&nbsp;continue&nbsp;to evolve.</p>

<p>On Tuesday, a week and a half after the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/this-is-us" target="_blank"><em>This Is Us</em></a> star&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/justin-hartley-files-for-divorce-from-wife-chrishell-stause-after-2-years-of-marriage-136929" target="_blank">filed for divorce</a>&nbsp;after two years together, Chrishell has filed for dissolution of marriage, also citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents acquired by ET. While Justin listed July 8&nbsp;as the date of their separation, she listed Nov. 22, when he filed for divorce.</p>

<p>Additionally, the 38-year-old actress is both requesting spousal support and asking that Justin's ability to receive spousal support be terminated. She's also asking that Justin pay all attorney's fees and that her name be restored to Terrina Chrishell Stause.</p>

<p>ET has reached out to the couple's reps for comment.</p>

<p>On Monday, Chrishell posted a cryptic quote to Instagram, which read, "It's hard to watch people change right in front of you. But it's even harder remembering who they used to be." Although Chrishell cited Nishan Panwar for the quote, many speculated that the message was in reference to Justin.&nbsp;</p>

Chrishell Stause Files Response to Justin Hartley's Divorce Petition and Lists Different Separation Date

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/joey-mcintyre" target="_blank">Joey McIntyre</a> is opening up about how <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/new-kids-block" target="_blank">New Kids on the Block</a> has&nbsp;managed to go the distance.</p>

<p>ET's Keltie Knight sat down with the singer in New York on Monday to discuss his not one, but two upcoming acting gigs in two plays, <em>Twelfth Night</em> and <em>The Wanderer. </em>He also chatted about the decades-spanning run&nbsp;his&nbsp;boy band has enjoyed.</p>

<p>"Staying together is so hard and that's why so many bands don't benefit from staying together," he states.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"First of all, we took 14 years off and we never thought we'd get back together,"&nbsp;McIntyre adds of the group's hiatus from 1994 to 2008.&nbsp;"You gotta pick your spots and you gotta take care of yourself. I mean, I slowly realized that the more I focus on myself and asked for what I need and go after that, then it's all good, you know what I mean? You know, we're five pretty good guys. I'm lucky to be a part of it."</p>

<p>Considering their longstanding bankability, he was also asked if the New Kids have ever considered a Las Vegas residency.</p>

<p>"Vegas has definitely, you know, come up a lot, but when you can still play arenas it's pretty cool," McIntyre responds.</p>

<p>He also discussed the group's annual cruise, which runs from April 23-27 in 2020, stating, "It's four nights and five days of non-stop craziness and we're all dead. Everybody goes home dead and then we somehow do it again next year."</p>

<p>Speaking of nostalgia, McIntyre also took a peek at an interview he did with ET in 1989, making for a hilarious reaction and response.</p>

<p>"First of all, my voice was changing, so it was a mess," he joked after watching the clip in which he discusses his newfound success and giving back as a teen. "I always have such compassion for that kid 'cause he could barely talk and he's still trying to sing 'Please Don't Go Girl.'"</p>

<p>During the interview, he also shared his excitement to tackle his first Shakespearean role, stating: "It's very exciting. I always wanted to do it. And I'm thrilled… It's <em>Twelfth Night</em> and the character's Orsino."</p>

<p><em>Twelfth Night</em> opens on Jan. 11, 2020 at the Two River Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey,&nbsp;and his next play, <em>The Wanderer</em>, opens at the Papermill Playhouse in New Jersey&nbsp;this&nbsp;spring.</p>
