<p><em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/frasier" rel="" target="_blank">Frasier</a>&nbsp;</em>is re-entering the building for season 2 on Paramount+!</p>

<p>The streaming service announced on Thursday that the revival series -- which saw&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/kelsey-grammer" rel="" target="_blank">Kelsey Grammer</a>&nbsp;reprise the title role of Dr. Frasier Crane&nbsp;as he embarked on the next chapter of his life -- has been renewed for a second season.</p>

<p>"Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television," said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+, in a statement. "The new series introduced&nbsp;<em>Frasier</em> to a whole new generation while reminding fans of Kelsey's truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane. We're so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season 2."</p>

<p>"<em>Frasier</em> is a love story, and I am very happy we will be allowed to continue it," added Grammer, who also serves as an executive producer on the series. "I'm delighted that our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ are on board for another season, and I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have in store!"</p>

<p>In the first season of the revival, Frasier&nbsp;returned to his old <em>Cheers</em> stomping ground in Boston, with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. New cast members included Jack Cutmore-Scott, who plays Frasier's adult son, Freddy, and&nbsp;and Anders Keith as&nbsp;Frasier's nephew David, the son of Niles Crane (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves).</p>

<p>"He is not the same guy anymore," Grammer said in ET's <a href="https://www.etonline.com/frasier-reboot-kelsey-grammer-shares-behind-the-scenes-look-at-remarkable-new-series-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">exclusive behind-the-scenes look</a> ahead of the show's premiere in October 2023. "He is a little wiser, he may actually even be a little funnier, willing to laugh at himself. A little more self-aware, and he has a new mission in life."</p>

<p>Grammer returned to lead the update, which follows Frasier as he begins a new chapter in his life. The actor was the lone star from the original series to return as a series regular for the new series.</p>

<p>Though the revival was light on OG presence in the first season, Grammer noted that the first episode, titled "The Good Father," is a direct callback to&nbsp;<em>Frasier</em>'s series premiere, which was called "The Good Son." There were also plenty of nods and references to characters who have come through&nbsp;<em>Frasier</em>, notably the late John Mahoney, who played Frasier's father, Martin Crane.&nbsp;"There's a nod to certainly my father in the show,&nbsp;John Mahoney, there," <a href="https://www.etonline.com/kelsey-grammer-says-frasier-reboot-will-honor-john-mahoney-exclusive-199427" rel="" target="_blank">Grammer told ET.</a> "You'll see things about John all through the show. I think people will be very happy to see that he's honored in the way he is in the show."&nbsp;</p>

After the love-hate energy between the two threatened their relationship with their son, however, the former couple agreed to amicably separate family schedules for Freddy's sake.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Freddy was the reason Frasier returned to Boston, the father-son reunion is a complicated one. Freddy eschews his father's elitist, academic personality and, despite having been accepted to Harvard himself, works as a fireman, a profession that both frustrates and worries his father. When the pair move into together, it makes for an interesting mirror of the original series, with the clashing personalities providing plenty of fodder for the show's antics.</p>

<p><strong>Nicholas Lyndhurst</strong></p>

<p><strong>Toks Olagundoye&nbsp;</strong></p>

A bartender and struggling actress, Eve often finds herself embroiled in the antics of the Crane men.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The&nbsp;<em>Frasier&nbsp;</em>reboot marks Keith's professional acting debut as he plays, Frasier's nephew David, who is the son of Niles Crane and Daphne Moon. Unfortunately, David seems to share both his father's posh aloofness and his mother's penchant for zany shenanigans, often leaving him the butt of the joke. He is a student of Alan's at Harvard, ultimately becoming his teaching assistant, much to both of their chagrins.</p>

<h2><strong>WHERE WE LEFT OFF</strong></h2>

<p>Season 1 showed Frasier readjusting to life in Boston and reattempting to be a supportive father to his now-grown son. He also had to acclimate himself to academic life after years in the spotlight on radio and television, dealing with the complicated behind-the-scenes politicking that goes on at an institution like Harvard.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Freddy faced challenges of his own, from trying to reconnect with a father he couldn't be more different from, to supporting Eve and her infant son, to his own survivor's guilt. The emotions culminated in the season 1 finale, in which Freddy felt pulled in all directions as he tried to support all the people in his life. Roz's surprise arrival, however, put everyone at ease, as they celebrated and paid tribute to Martin and his favorite time of the year.</p>

<h2><strong>PREMIERE DATE&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p><em>Frasier's</em> 10-episode first season -- as well as the entire original&nbsp;series -- is currently streaming on Paramount+. No word yet on when season 2 will premiere.</p>

'Frasier' Reboot Renewed for Season 2: Everything We Know About the Sequel Series

<p>Red light, green light...&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/squid-game" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Squid Game</em></a> is opening its doors for season 2!</p>

<p>Following the groundbreaking debut of the riveting Korean drama Netflix is gearing up for the anticipated nine-episode follow-up to the breakout 2021 season.</p>

<p>After being crowned its most-watched series ever with 1.6 billion total hours watched during its opening month, Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos <a href="https://www.etonline.com/squid-game-is-coming-back-for-season-2-netflix-boss-confirms-178112" rel="" target="_blank">revealed</a> in January 2022 that "the&nbsp;<em>Squid Game&nbsp;</em>universe has begun." A season 2 greenlight was made official by Netflix in June 2022, nine months after the series premiered, with creator/writer/director Hwang Dong-hyuk back to oversee the entire thing.</p>

<p><em>Squid Game</em> follows&nbsp;ordinary people forced to enter a secret competition, where they could either win a massive cash prize or lose their life. Season 1 centered on divorced father and gambler, Seong Gi-hun (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/lee-jung-jae" rel="" target="_blank">Lee Jung-jae</a>), who unexpectedly outwits and outlasts his fellow competitors until he makes it to the end and discovers there is far more to the games than he originally thought.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The popularity of&nbsp;<em>Squid Game&nbsp;</em>skyrocketed soon after its September 2021 debut, catapulting actress Jung Ho-yeon, who played Kane Sae-byeok, into the show's breakout star and dominating the pop culture conversation around the world.</p>

<p>With cast and producers, including Hwang, gathering together in June 2023 for the first official table read to kickstart season 2, here's what we know so far about the anticipated new season of the Korean thriller.</p>

<h3><strong>When Will Season 2 Premiere?</strong></h3>

<p>Netflix released official photos from the first cast table read for season 2 on June 28, 2023, which took place earlier in the week, according to the streaming service. Production began in late 2023, and the episodes are expected to debut in sometime in 2024.</p>

<h3><strong>Who's in the Cast</strong></h3>

<p>Returning for season 2 is <a href="https://www.etonline.com/squid-game-star-lee-jung-jae-makes-history-with-drama-actor-emmy-win-190621" rel="" target="_blank">Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae</a> as lone game survivor Seong Gi-hun, Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho, Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man and Gong Yoo as the Salesman.</p>

<p>They will be joined by new cast additions Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon and Yang Dong-geun, who Netflix confirmed will be new players in the game.</p>

<p>The ensemble will be rounded out by Park Gyu-young,&nbsp;singer and former Iz*One member Jo Yuri, Kane Ae-sim,&nbsp;Lee David,&nbsp;Lee Jin-uk,&nbsp;rapper-actor Choi Seung-hyun (whose stage name is T.O.P.),&nbsp;Roh Jae-won and Won Ji-an.</p>

<h3><strong>Where You've Seen the New Faces</strong></h3>

<p>Jo Yuri and Choi Seung-hyun, also known as T.O.P., may be familiar to K-pop fans.</p>

<p>The former is an ex-member of the girl group, Iz*One, which disbanded in 2021. The 21-year-old singer debuted as a solo artist later that year with the release of&nbsp;<em>Glassy.&nbsp;</em>She followed that up in 2022 with the five-track album,&nbsp;<em>Op.22 Y-Waltz: In Minor&nbsp;</em>with the summer title song, "Love Shhh!"</p>

<p>T.O.P. made his debut in 2006 as lead rapper for the K-pop group, BigBang, which included members G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. The 35-year-old is no stranger to the screen, making his acting debut in the Korean TV rom-com series,&nbsp;<em>I Am Sam</em>, in 2007 and later his film debut in 2010 with the Korean war drama,&nbsp;<em>71: Into the Fire.</em></p>

<p>Other new cast additions have previously worked together, with Park Gyu-young and Lee Jin-uk co-starring in the 2020 horror series&nbsp;<em>Sweet Home. </em>Lee David also has ties to Hwang, playing a supporting role in the&nbsp;<em>Squid Game&nbsp;</em>creator's past film,&nbsp;<em>The Fortress</em>, and starring opposite Lee Jung-jae in&nbsp;<em>Svaha: The Sixth Finger</em>.</p>

<h3><strong>Who<em> Isn't</em> Returning&nbsp;</strong></h3>

<p>Unfortunately, many fan favorites won't be returning -- in part because the majority of the characters are dead.</p>

<p>One of those original cast members is breakout star Jung Ho-yeon, who played North Korea defector Kang Sae-byeok in season 1. The Emmy-nominated actress all but confirmed that she won't be appearing in <em>Squid Game&nbsp;</em>season 2, saying in an interview with <em><a href="http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20211004000162" rel="" target="_blank">The Korea Herald</a>&nbsp;</em>in 2021, "To be honest, I have never thought about [participating in] the next season, because I am dead. We should all wait for brilliant imagination and ideas from the director and Netflix."</p>

<p>However, in 2022, Hwang seemed to leave the door slightly ajar when asked about the possibility of seeing Jung again. "Let's say maybe she has a twin sister, you'll see," <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/03/squid-game-season-2-interview-pga-awards-1234982519/" rel="" target="_blank">the director joked</a>.</p>

<p>And while working on season 2, Hwang expressed regrets over killing off memorable characters, notably Ji-yeong, played by actress Lee Yoo-mi. "I want to revive Ji-yeong, but her best friend Sae-byeok also died, so I'm thinking what to do," he <a href="https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/squid-game-director-dilemma-over-reviving-dead-characters-2nd-season-2022-09-16/" rel="" target="_blank">acknowledged</a> in September 2022. "So many characters died, especially beloved ones. I'm sorry I killed them so easily; I didn't know [season 2] was coming."</p>

<h3><strong>What Happened at the End of Season 1?</strong></h3>

<p>Season 1 ends with Gi-hun winning the final Squid game, beating Cho Sang-woo and refusing to kill him. Instead, he begs Sang-woo to stop the game through a loophole in the rules, but Sang-woo ends up fatally stabbing himself in the neck.</p>

<p>The finale episode flashes forward one year later and Gi-hun, who is given the hefty prize money via a bank card, is still struck by the trauma he experienced during the games and the death of his mother. It's revealed he hasn't spent his prize money. He later gives a portion of it to Sang-woo's mother and Sae-byeok's brother.</p>

<p>After visiting fellow player and friend Oh Il-nam, who is dying, Gi-hun learns the truth about the existence of the games -- that it was created by him solely to entertain the rich. After Il-nam dies, Gi-hun discovers that the game is still continuing after spotting the Salesman trying to recruit another player at the airport.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Though he initially has plans to board the plane to visit his daughter in Los Angeles in an attempt to reconnect, Gi-hun -- after getting the player's invitation card -- dials the number before his flight and demands to know who is overseeing the games.</p>

<p>The person who answers the phone tells Gi-hun to board his flight, but he has other plans as his anger intensifies. Gi-hun turns around and instead of getting on the plane, walks back to the terminal. Is he about to take revenge and stop the game once and for all?</p>

<p>"The scene where Seong Gi-hun turns around and decides to not get on the plane, that's not a decision that he just makes for the happiness of himself and for himself only," Hwang told ET in November 2021. "It is to present this very question that we wanted to convey through the series, which is, 'Is the world that we're living in worthy of living?'"</p>

<p>"So the way that he looks straight into the camera is really in a way asking the audience that very question," he noted.</p>

<h3><strong>What Is Season 2 About?</strong></h3>

<p>The first footage from season 2 was released in February 2024, showing a clip that pics up right where season 1 ended.</p>

<p>We see Gi-hun walking out of the airport terminal when his phone buzzes.</p>

<p>"You are going to regret the choice you made," the voice warns.</p>

<p>"I will find you," Gi-hun threatens in return. "No matter what it takes."</p>

<p>Months after season 1 dropped, Hwang <a href="https://twitter.com/netflix/status/1536016779037749248" rel="" target="_blank">revealed in June 2022</a> that audiences will also "be introduced to Young-hee's boyfriend, Cheol-su" in season 2.</p>

<p>He also shared in October 2021 that the new season may delve deeper into the backstories of&nbsp;<em>Squid Game</em>'s supporting characters, such as the Front Man and the Salesman.</p>

<p>"There are some loose ends I’d like to explore if I were to make a second season. The Front Man’s unexplained past, detective Jun-ho’s story. Those are things I didn’t explain in season 1. If I were to do season 2, I’d like to explain those elements," Hwang told <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/style/article/squid-game-director-hwang-dong-hyuk-spc-hnk/index.html" rel="" target="_blank">CNN</a>. "And the man with the ddakji [a Korean game] in his bags… the man who was played by Gong Yoo."</p>

<p>Hwang disclosed that the enigmatic game master is a former cop, in addition to being Jun-ho's older brother, the latter of which could be touched on in the upcoming episodes. He hinted that season 2 could also explore policing.</p>

<p>"I see it on the global news that the police force can be very late on acting on things -- there are more victims or a situation gets worse because of them not acting fast enough," he <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/squid-game-new-netflix-series-hoyeong-jung-hwang-dong-hyuk-interview-korean-thriller-7ttqr2wv5" rel="" target="_blank">said</a> in October 2021. "Maybe in season 2, I can talk about this more."</p>

<h3><strong>Will There Be a Season 3?</strong></h3>

<p>A third season hasn't officially been announced.</p>

<p>Hwang shared <a href="https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2021/12/688_321287.html?fl" rel="" target="_blank">in a December 2021 interview with KBS</a>, a Korean broadcasting station, that he was in conversations with Netflix about continuing&nbsp;<em>Squid Game&nbsp;</em>through season 3.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Netflix responded to <a href="https://www.ibtimes.com/squid-game-season-3-already-works-netflix-reacts-3694055" rel="" target="_blank">a report in May 2023</a> that it was moving forward with a third season, not confirming nor denying the development in its statement: "Because we are still in the early stages, the concrete details have not yet been decided."</p>

'Squid Game' Season 2: Trailer, Release Date, Cast and What to Know About the Netflix Series

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/sylvester-stallone" rel="" target="_blank">Sylvester Stallone</a> and his family are back for more drama.</p>

<p>On Wednesday,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/news/paramount-plus" rel="" target="_blank">Paramount+</a> announced the premiere date for the second season of their reality series,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/sylvester-stallones-docuseries-the-family-stallone-to-premiere-this-spring-see-the-super-bowl-spot" rel="" target="_blank"><em>The Family Stallone</em></a>. Sly will return for new episodes on Feb. 21, alongside his wife, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-family-stallone-debuts-a-timeline-of-sylvester-stallone-and-wife-jennifer-flavins-marriage" rel="" target="_blank">Jennifer Flavin Stallone</a>, and their daughters, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet.</p>

<p>The docuseries launched last May, with new episodes dropping weekly, and its first episode broke the record for the top original reality series premiere on Paramount+, according to the streaming service.</p>

<p><em>The Family Stallone&nbsp;</em>follows Sylvester Stallone as he gives camera access to what he would consider the greatest role of his lifetime: dad. The series follows the clan as they navigate life as one of Hollywood's most infamous families.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In season 2, the show will follow the family as they make the decision to leave Los Angeles behind, with Sophia and Sistine following their dreams to New York City and Scarlet navigating college life and new love in Miami.</p>

<p>Sly and Jen are also in a major time of transition as empty nesters, setting up new roots in Palm Beach, Florida. But the family bonds are as strong as ever, and the season ends on a life-changing trip to Italy to "explore their family history, rekindle love and make a lifetime of memories."</p>

<p>Prior to season 2 premiering on Paramount+,&nbsp;MTV will air back-to-back encore presentations of the entire first season -- with four episodes dropping each week, beginning on Feb. 7. Then, the first two episodes from season 2 will air on the network on Wednesday, Feb. 21 and Thursday, Feb. 22.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>ET spoke with the Stallone family&nbsp;ahead of the series' launch <a href="https://www.etonline.com/sylvester-stallone-on-writing-his-daughters-breakup-texts-and-comparisons-to-the-kardashians-204504" rel="" target="_blank">last year</a>, where they opened up about how long they want cameras capturing their every move.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As long as they let us," Sistine said.</p>

<p>"That's an interesting question," Sly chimed in. "I don't think I know when the patina wears off, but definitely for a couple of seasons."</p>

<p>The family also likened their show to "more of a docuseries," as Jennifer described. "I think we all have such big personalities. There's nobody quiet in our family. And we're very loud and funny and fun. And I think we come from love."</p>

<p>Asked about comparisons to the Kardashians, Sistine credited them for all they've accomplished in the TV space but said that&nbsp;<em>The Family Stallone&nbsp;</em>is a completely separate thing.&nbsp;"They've done it so right," she said, "and it worked for them and there would just be no point in trying to copy that."</p>

<p>Added Sly: "How do we differentiate ourselves from them? That's being your authentic self and that's what we are."</p>

<p>Season 2 of&nbsp;<em>The Family Stallone&nbsp;</em>premieres Feb. 21 on Paramount+.</p>

Sylvester Stallone's Reality Series 'The Family Stallone' Announces Season 2 Premiere Date

<p><em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/vanderpump-rules" rel="" target="_blank">Vanderpump Rules</a>&nbsp;</em>star <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/ariana-madix" target="_blank">Ariana Madix</a>&nbsp;is putting <a href="https://www.etonline.com/news/scandoval" rel="" target="_blank">Scandoval</a> behind her, but still bringing the drama in an upcoming Lifetime movie.</p>

<p>On Friday, the network released the first trailer for the upcoming TV movie,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/ariana-madixs-next-move-amid-scandoval-a-lifetime-movie-201410" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Buying Back My Daughter</em></a>, in which Madix has a supporting role.</p>

<p>The "Ripped From the Headlines" film is executive produced by and starring <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/meagan-good" rel="" target="_blank">Meagan Good</a>, and follows a couple's teenage daughter who sneaks out of the house to attend a party, which soon escalates into a widespread search party spearheaded by Dana (Good) and the police. After almost a year of searching for her missing daughter, Alicia (Faith Wright), a mother's intuition leads Dana to the salacious world of online escort ads where, to her horror, she finds her daughter listed for sale. Dana and her husband, Curtis (Roger Cross), spring into action and attempt to "buy their daughter back" in order to rescue her from the trafficker who abducted Alicia and subjected her to unspeakable harm.</p>

<p>Madix plays Officer Karen, a police officer who helps investigate the case and has a personal connection to the story. First looks show the 37-year-old with her&nbsp;blonde hair pulled back in a polished ponytail as she rocks her cop uniform.</p>

<p>"Most runaways are found within 72 hours," Madix's character assures in the trailer, though Dana has a bad feeling, questioning, "And the ones that aren't?"</p>

<p>Madix's casting was <a href="https://www.etonline.com/ariana-madixs-next-move-amid-scandoval-a-lifetime-movie-201410" rel="" target="_blank">announced in late March</a>, on the heels of the scandal that saw her now-ex, Tom Sandoval, and friend,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/raquel-leviss" rel="" target="_blank">Raquel Leviss</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tom-sandoval-and-raquel-leviss-the-latest-in-the-vanderpump-rules-stars-cheating-scandal-200333" rel="" target="_blank">become involved in an affair</a>.</p>

<p>In May, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/heres-what-ariana-madix-wants-fans-to-remember-while-watching-vanderpump-rules-reunion-205258" rel="" target="_blank">the reality star spoke to ET</a> about putting the past behind her and looking ahead to the future.</p>

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">"I am in a position right now where I just want to do everything and I really am enjoying myself, doing it as much as I can," Madix said at the time. "I want to claim independence, I want to claim success, I want to reclaim my time.&nbsp;I want to claim all the good vibes and positivity and I want to be involved and leave stuff in the past."</p>

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Madix is also looking forward to returning for the 11th season of<em>&nbsp;Vanderpump Rules</em>, and isn't letting the Scandoval drama hold her back from making the most of her time on the show.</p>

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">"I'm excited to return. I mean, we've been sharing out lives on television for 10 seasons, nine for me, and I think that I'm very excited to keep doing that," she shared. "It brings me a lot of joy to connect with people via doing the show, and so I wanna keep doing that."</p>

<p>On July 14, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), which represent more than 160,000 film and television actors, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/sag-aftra-officially-declares-actors-strike-207976" rel="" target="_blank">officially went on strike</a> after they were unable to reach an agreement with major Hollywood studios and streamers by the July 12 deadline. Because of this, nearly all productions in Hollywood have been forced to shut down, which has already had an immediate impact on the industry with canceled premieres, axed publicity tours, delayed projects and abandoned sets.</p>

<p>Actors including Jason Sudeikis, Susan Sarandon, Olivia Wilde, Allison Janney, Josh Gad, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Mandy Moore, Ben Schwartz and Sharon Lawrence are among those joining the writers -- <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-2023-wga-writers-strike-every-television-show-that-has-been-affected-so-far-206897" rel="" target="_blank">who have been on strike since May 2</a> -- on the picket line. This marks the first time since 1960 that two major Hollywood guilds will be striking at the same time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is an inflection point in our industry," <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/george-clooney" rel="" target="_blank">George Clooney</a> said <a href="https://www.etonline.com/george-clooney-speaks-out-on-sag-aftra-strike-this-is-an-inflection-point-208048" rel="" target="_blank">in a statement to ET</a> one day after the actors' strike was formally announced. "Actors and writers in large numbers have lost their ability to make a living. For our industry to survive that has to change. For actors that journey starts now."</p>

<p>Actors are asking for improved compensation and benefits, residuals that reflect the value of their contributions amid the expansion of streaming services, regulated use of artificial intelligence and the issue of self-taped auditions. Similarly, writers are seeking better residuals in the age of streaming, among other hot-button issues.</p>

<p>With actors joining the fight, it means Hollywood has come to a standstill and will remain this way until an agreement is reached by SAG-AFTRA and the major studios and streamers, which are being represented by the&nbsp;Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Until there is a new deal reached by both sides, expect top Hollywood actors to put down their scripts and pick up their picket signs as they hit the streets to join the fight.</p>

<p>Here's how the actors' strike has already impacted Hollywood.</p>

<h3><strong>Delayed Film Releases and Shakeups to Fall TV</strong></h3>

<p>In the weeks since the actors' strike has started, there have been a number of shifts in the theatrical release schedules for several major upcoming films while many broadcast and cable networks have started altering their fall lineups and changing premiere dates for new and returning TV shows.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the film side, ET has learned that A24, which has actually has two independent projects <a href="https://www.etonline.com/why-anne-hathaway-jenna-ortega-and-others-can-keep-filming-during-the-sag-aftra-strike-208295" rel="" target="_blank">still in production</a>, has pushed back the release of <em>Problemista</em>&nbsp;despite already premiering at the SXSW festival earlier this year. Originally set to come out on Aug. 4, the studio has moved its release date in support of writer, director and star Julio Torres, who joined the picket lines for both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Additionally, <em>Challengers</em>, filmmaker&nbsp;Luca Guadagnino's anticipated romantic drama starring Zendaya,&nbsp;Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist, has canceled its premiere at the Venice Film Festival. "After thoughtful consideration with our partners, and given the parameters that SAG-AFTRA has outlined for its membership, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw Challengers from this year’s Venice International Film Festival. We look forward to celebrating the film when we can do so with our ensemble cast, director Luca Guadagnino, and the filmmaking team at a later date," a spokesperson for MGM/Amazon Studios told ET.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Other delayed films include most of the upcoming <em>Star Wars</em> and Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as well as the Helen Mirren-led <em>White Bird</em>&nbsp;and the <em>Dirty Dancing</em> sequel, with both being pushed back until 2024.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for TV, CBS and Fox have both announced game show and reality TV-heavy lineups. The former is&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/yellowstone-to-make-broadcast-premiere-on-cbs-this-fall-amid-wga-and-sag-strikes-208155" rel="" target="_blank">expanding the new seasons</a> of <em>The Amazing Race</em> and <em>Survivor</em> to include 90-minute episodes while the latter has a number of music-themed competitions slated to premiere or return starting in September.</p>

<p>Both networks have said that premieres for most of their renewed or new scripted shows will be announced at a later date.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Canceled Red Carpets and Premieres</strong></h3>

<p>The last major film premieres before the SAG-AFTRA strike went into effect were for <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/margot-robbie" rel="" target="_blank">Margot Robbie</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/ryan-gosling" rel="" target="_blank">Ryan Gosling</a>'s&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/movies/barbie" rel="" target="_blank">Barbie</a>,</em> <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/tom-cruise" rel="" target="_blank">Tom Cruise</a>'s<em> <a href="https://www.etonline.com/latest/movies/mission-impossible" rel="" target="_blank">Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1</a>&nbsp;</em>and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/cillian-murphy" rel="" target="_blank">Cillian Murphy</a>'s&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/movies/oppenheimer" rel="" target="_blank">Oppenheimer</a>,</em> three of the most anticipated theatrical releases of the summer.</p>

<p>News of the impending actors' strike affected the London premiere of&nbsp;<em>Oppenheimer</em>&nbsp;as cast members Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh and others walked the red carpet and completed interviews hours before their union declared a strike, with Damon <a href="https://twitter.com/Reuters/status/1679760138994073600" rel="" target="_blank">standing in solidarity with the striking writers</a>. When it came time to screen the film, director Christopher Nolan appeared onstage without the cast, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/christopher-nolan-says-oppenheimer-cast-left-uk-premiere-to-write-their-picket-signs-for-sag-strike" rel="" target="_blank">revealing that they had left "to write their picket signs"</a> to fight "for fair wages for working members of the union."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Universal Pictures confirmed the U.S. red carpet premiere on July 17 for <em>Oppenheimer&nbsp;</em>was canceled. Instead, only the movie will be screened for guests. "We will no longer be having a red carpet for Monday’s premiere," the studio said in a statement to ET on July 14. "In support of the ongoing SAG strike, the filmmakers of<em> Oppenheimer</em> will not be proceeding with the N.Y. premiere as originally planned, and will instead screen the movie to celebrate the crew and craftspeople who contributed to making this landmark film."</p>

<p>Additionally, the upcoming Paramount+ CIA spy series,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/nicole-kidman-and-zoe-saldana-star-in-intense-new-special-ops-lioness-trailer-207691" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Special Ops: Lioness</em></a>, which stars <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/zoe-saldana" rel="" target="_blank">Zoe Saldaña</a>&nbsp;and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/nicole-kidman" rel="" target="_blank">Nicole Kidman</a>, was set to have a Los Angeles premiere July 18, which has now been canceled in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike, <em><a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/special-ops-lioness-premiere-canceled-sag-aftra-strike-1235670154/" rel="" target="_blank">Variety</a>&nbsp;</em>confirmed. The cast took part in the London premiere on July 11, marking the last red carpet event for the new Taylor Sheridan series, which launches July 23.</p>

<p>Expect any previously scheduled red carpets and premieres to go away as the actors continue to strike.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>No Promotional Interviews</strong></h3>

<p>As part of the strike order, actors are prohibited from promoting any upcoming, current and past film and TV projects on red carpets, at events, in junkets or during interviews, including podcasts. Many studios, networks and streamers attempted to bypass the issue by scheduling earlier-than-usual junkets and interviews before July 13 for releases coming later in the year in anticipation of an actors' strike.</p>

<p>Still, several junkets and interviews to promote new releases have been effectively delayed or canceled, with the upcoming seasons of&nbsp;<em>Only Murders in the Building</em> and<em> Physical, </em>slated for August launches, just two of the major shows that were planning publicity with press prior to the actors' strike.</p>

<p>Any plans for future red carpets or junkets have largely been scrapped due to the actors' strike. However, any subsequent exclusive interviews on ET were completed prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike declaration on July 13.</p>

<h3><strong>Filming on Sets Halted</strong></h3>

<p>Production on numerous sets and productions were already affected by the writers' strike, with many having to delay or stop filming due to scripts not being fully written before the work stoppage. Now, with the actors joining the cause, even more productions have been forced to abandon ship as actors are not allowed to work while the strike is ongoing. (Meanwhile,<em>&nbsp;</em><em>House of the Dragon</em>&nbsp;continued to film amid the writers' strike and will move forward with production while the actors' strike gets underway, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/global/house-of-the-dragon-season-2-filming-sag-strike-hbo-1235669404/" rel="" target="_blank">due to local U.K. union rules</a>, <em>Variety&nbsp;</em>reported. To sum it up, the actors under contract -- many of them working via the U.K. union, Equity -- are not allowed to strike in solidarity with the actors' union stateside.)</p>

<p>That means productions that were operating normally up until July 13 are now ghost yards. Among them are the now-empty sets of&nbsp;<em><a href="https://metro.co.uk/2023/07/14/deadpool-and-wicked-film-sets-closed-down-and-empty-as-actors-strike-begins-19131342/" rel="" target="_blank">Deadpool 3</a>, </em>which<em>&nbsp;</em>stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and has a planned release date of May 3, 2024, and&nbsp;<em>Wicked,&nbsp;</em>with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and&nbsp;<em>Bridgerton</em>'s Jonathan Bailey, with Part 1 slated to be released Nov. 27, 2024 and Part 2 scheduled for Nov. 26, 2025.</p>

<p>While there has been no official word, several film and TV productions that were currently filming are likely shut down as a result of the actors' strike.&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2023/07/actors-strike-productions-shut-down" rel="" target="_blank">Vanity Fair</a>&nbsp;</em>listed several that are most likely affected, including <i>Andor&nbsp;</i>season 2<em>,&nbsp;Beetlejuice 2 </em>and&nbsp;<em>Gladiator 2</em>.&nbsp;<em>Paddington in Peru&nbsp;</em>was reportedly set to begin production later this month, which likely now won't happen.</p>

<h3><strong>Changes to Comic-Con and Other Events&nbsp;</strong></h3>

<p>As a result of the actors' strike, scheduled panels at major events like Comic-Con that studios and streamers have previously used as platforms to promote or launch anticipated films and TV shows have been canceled or reimagined as screenings, activations or actor-less panels.</p>

<p>Among the high-profile projects that were set to have a presence and will no longer appear in San Diego or have tweaked original plans for the fan convention are&nbsp;<em>Dune 2</em> (which was supposed to be a surprise panel), <em>Good Omens, The Rookie, Orphan Black: Echoes, The Wheel of Time, Abbott Elementary, Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire</em> and <em>That '70s Show, </em>among others.</p>

<p>While there may be loopholes for actors to appear at conventions or do autograph signings, they are largely not permitted to promote, discuss or sign anything related to a movie or TV show in any capacity.</p>

<h3><strong>Emmy Awards Likely to Be Delayed</strong></h3>

<p>Though the Television Academy hasn't formally announced a decision, with the writers and actors striking at the same time, there likely will be a significant delay to the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, which, at the moment, are scheduled to take place Monday, Sept. 18. With no immediate timetable set for a resolution on a new contract, the Emmys will likely need to be pushed.&nbsp;<em><a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/emmys-strike-delay-fox-tv-academy-january-november-1235667092/" rel="" target="_blank">Variety</a>&nbsp;</em>reported July 11 that Fox, which has the awards telecast this year, is aiming for a new airdate of January 2024, while the TV Academy is hoping for no later than a November postponement.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/2023-emmy-nominations-see-the-complete-list-207286" rel="" target="_blank">Emmy nominations were announced the morning of July 12</a>&nbsp;during a virtual ceremony, with TV Academy chairman Frank Scherma briefly addressing the uncertainty of the future.</p>

<p>The actors' strike also affects Emmy campaigning, as talent are barred from any For Your Consideration interviews, publicity or promotion as long as the strike continues.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This will likely have a ripple effect on other awards shows, which may be forced to delay, cancel or completely rework their ceremonies. The Daytime Emmys, originally scheduled for June 16, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/daytime-emmys-postponed-due-to-writers-strike-204709" rel="" target="_blank">was postponed indefinitely</a> in an announcement made by the TV Academy on May 16, two weeks after the writers' strike began.</p>

<h3><strong>Layoffs and Job Losses</strong></h3>

<p>As the SAG-AFTRA/WGA strikes continue, the financial strain is being felt both by the creatives on the picket lines and, now, those who represent them at talent agencies.</p>

<p>On Aug. 10, news broke that major Hollywood talent agency CAA would be going through a round of layoffs and cost-cutting that would impact approximately 60 people, according to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/caa-layoffs-1235561271/" rel="" target="_blank"><em>The Hollywood Reporter.</em></a>&nbsp;The layoffs are expected to come within the next week and will include agents, executives and support staff. The publication notes, however, that the layoffs will impact a relatively small percentage of the thousands of people employed by the agency, and that staffing levels were being reevaluated even before SAG-AFTRA voted to strike.</p>

<p>That being said, THR reports that&nbsp;Endeavor -- which owns the talent agency WME and fashion agency IMG -- estimated in August that the ongoing strikes will cost the agencies around $25 million per month in revenue, which could lead to greater cost-cutting measures and additional rounds of layoffs in the future, as productions across the industry remain halted.</p>

How the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike Is Affecting Hollywood: From Delayed Releases to Empty Sets

<p>Get ready, Hearties, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/erin-krakow-talks-hallmark-romance-wedding-cottage-and-when-calls-the-heart-season-10-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">season 10</a> of&nbsp;<em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/when-calls-the-heart" rel="" target="_blank">When Calls the Heart</a>&nbsp;</em>promises to be a wild ride!&nbsp;Ahead of <a href="https://www.etonline.com/when-calls-the-heart-debuts-season-10-poster-promises-good-things-coming-exclusive-200680" rel="" target="_blank">the anticipated return</a> of the Hallmark Channel drama on Sunday, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/erin-krakow" rel="" target="_blank">Erin Krakow</a> sat down with ET's Deidre Behar, where she offered a preview of all that's to come for Elizabeth and the folks in Hope Valley.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I am very excited," Krakow said. "I have such a memory of being on set in season 1 and wrapping up the season and we were talking as a cast about where we thought the show could go. And the fact that we are here celebrating the premiere of season 10, it's remarkable. I am so grateful."</p>

<p>The new season picks up following <a href="https://www.etonline.com/when-calls-the-heart-boss-weighs-in-on-season-9-finale-surprises-and-whats-next-exclusive-184530" rel="" target="_blank">the events of the finale</a>, which saw Elizabeth and Lucas (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/chris-mcnally-dishes-on-wcth-season-10-and-the-best-part-of-fatherhood-exclusive-201931" rel="" target="_blank">Chris McNally</a>) getting engaged, and expectant couple Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) preparing for the birth of their baby.</p>

<p>"Season 10 is packed. We are truly leveling up the&nbsp;<em>When Calls the Heart&nbsp;</em>experience<i>,</i>" Krakow, who is also an executive producer, teased. "We are bringing in lots of exciting guest stars. We've don't know if they are good guys or bad guys. We have family visits, we have musical episodes -- not a true musical episode, but there is music. There's some singing. There's a tourist destination -- this hot springs in town. There's a lot of romance. There's a new baby. It's a momentous season, as it should be in season 10."</p>

<p>Krakow revealed the season begins with Elizabeth and Lucas enjoying <a href="https://www.etonline.com/when-calls-the-heart-season-10-premiere-date-renewed-for-season-11-exclusive-199515" rel="" target="_blank">the early stages of their engagement</a> as the couple dip their toe in wedding planning. "There is cake tasting and invitations and, you know, talk of dress designs," the actress hinted. "All the good stuff. We will see them on that journey."</p>

<p>But she added that Elizabeth may be the one&nbsp;<em>When Calls the Heart&nbsp;</em>character who faces the biggest obstacles this year.</p>

<p>"Elizabeth goes through it this season. She has some emotional hurdles that she has to overcome," Krakow said. "Her kid is growing up. Little Jack has all of these questions now about his father and that is a new challenge for Elizabeth. She has a lot on her plate. She is juggling a lot."</p>

<p>"And then you've got Henry Gowen. He is at a point where the community has really forgiven him, but he has to figure out if he can forgive himself, which is a big process for Gowen. Lucas, he has some career opportunities that will challenge him in a good way. But change is hard," she continued. "And then you have Rosemary, who is questioning what kind of a mom she might be and obviously Elizabeth is there to comfort her and support her on that journey. There is something for everyone [to go through]."</p>

<p>With the Hallmark favorite reaching a milestone 10th season, which will include the series' 100th episode, Krakow promised the drama is at an all-time high.</p>

<p>"There will be some jaw dropping. There will probably be a few moments of dropped jaws," she teased. "There's a bit of a life-or-death situation." Thankfully, no one perishes as a result of the life-or-death situation, Krakow assured, but "it gets a little dicey for a second."&nbsp;</p>

<p>And it wouldn't be&nbsp;<em>When Calls the Heart&nbsp;</em>without tug-at-your-heartstrings romantic moments. "We've got some big romance beats, jaw-dropping beats there," Krakow said.</p>

<p>"Just buckle your seatbelts," she added. "I am not kidding, it's a massive season. It's a roller-coaster. It's a fun roller-coaster."</p>

'When Calls the Heart': Erin Krakow Teases Season 10 Features Several 'Roller-Coaster' Moments (Exclusive)

<p>Start counting us in, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/the-morning-show" rel="" target="_blank"><em>The Morning Show</em></a> is almost back!</p>

<p>On Thursday, Apple TV+ shared the first trailer for the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-season-3-your-guide-to-plot-new-cast-members-and-more-as-filming-wraps-194836" rel="" target="_blank">anticipated third season</a> of the Apple TV+&nbsp;drama.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jennifer-aniston" rel="" target="_blank">Jennifer Aniston</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/reese-witherspoon" rel="" target="_blank">Reese Witherspoon</a>&nbsp;return for the&nbsp;new season, which premieres Wednesday, Sept. 13 with the first two episodes. Subsequent episodes of the 10-part season will drop weekly.</p>

<p>Season 3 of&nbsp;<em>The Morning Show</em>, which was&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-renewed-for-season-4-ahead-of-season-3s-fall-debut-203639" rel="" target="_blank">already picked up for a fourth season in May,</a>&nbsp;finds the future of the network thrown into question and loyalties pushed to the brink when a tech titan takes an interest in UBA. Unexpected alliances form, private truths are weaponized and everyone is forced to confront their core values both in and out of the newsroom.</p>

<p>"We were supposed to change things, weren't we?" Witherspoon's Bradley Jackson wonders in the clip. "I wanted to make a difference."</p>

<p>The trailer also gives a first look at new cast member <a href="https://www.etonline.com/jon-hamm-joins-the-morning-show-cast-for-season-3-188836" rel="" target="_blank">Jon Hamm</a>, who plays the corporate titan, Paul Marks, who sets his sights on the network.</p>

<p>"You need a miracle," he says in the trailer, which also shows him making eyes at Aniston's Alex Levy. "I am offering you a lifeline."</p>

<p>Returning this season are Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/julianna-margulies-returning-for-the-morning-show-season-3-189513" rel="" target="_blank">Julianna Margulies</a>. Other new cast members include Nicole Beharie, Tig Notaro and Natalie Morales. Mimi Leder serves as director and executive producer, with executive producer Charlotte Stoudt taking over as showrunner from Kerry Ehrin.</p>

<p>Witherspoon hinted to ET that season 3 will take place "after the pandemic" but stopped short of confirming exactly when. "I can't tell you anything," the actress and executive producer coyly said. "But it's really juicy and good."</p>

<p>She later&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/reese-witherspoon-teases-lots-of-romance-in-season-3-of-the-morning-show-exclusive-197688" rel="" target="_blank">revealed that</a>&nbsp;"there is lots of romance this year" and credited the new cast members "who have just upped the game."</p>

<p>Crudup, meanwhile, said audiences can expect "more scheming, more operating, more weird intellectual charm and all the smarm that you can imagine."</p>

<p>Seasons 1 and 2 of&nbsp;<em>The Morning Show</em>&nbsp;are now streaming on Apple TV+. Season 3 premieres Sept. 13.</p>

'The Morning Show' Season 3 Trailer: Jon Hamm Arrives With a 'Lifeline' for UBA

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/latto" rel="" target="_blank">Latto</a> is spicing up&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/grownish" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Grown-ish</em></a>'s final season.</p>

<p>Hot off her No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song, "Seven," with BTS' Jungkook where she's the featured artist, the rapper is celebrating with a special guest appearance on Wednesday's episode of the Freeform series. Playing glamorous wine rep Sloane, Latto adds some heat when she and Doug (Diggy Simmons) have a flirty moment by the bar.</p>

<p>In ET's exclusive sneak peek from the episode, titled "Right My Wrongs," the 24-year-old "Lottery" rapper saunters into Doug's bar in a fire-engine red power suit with a "special delivery" -- a bag full of fancy wine.</p>

<p>"I'm about to get rid of all my wine so I can see you again," Doug says as the two heat up the scene.</p>

<p>"Sounds like I win either way," Sloane replies.</p>

<p>As Doug soft-pitches ideas for food and wine pairings -- jalapeno poppers with sauvignon blanc, to be specific -- Sloane is hesitant about the combo. But, because it's Doug, she's "down to try anything once."</p>

<p>"So the lady likes adventure," Doug surmises.</p>

<p>"She does," she answers, offering a wine alternative. This prompts Doug to jump into action, a little more than excited to pop open the bottle.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"You can't rush fine wine or fine women," Sloane flirts back. Spicy!</p>

<p>Latto has a lot to be happy about as of late. In addition to her hit with Jungkook,&nbsp;she recently wrapped up the North American run as a supporting act for Lizzo on The Special Tour. Back in March, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/how-latto-is-living-her-best-life-while-on-tour-with-lizzo-exclusive-200132" rel="" target="_blank">ET spoke with the&nbsp;"Big Energy" artist</a> about going on the road with the "About Damn Time" rapper.</p>

<p>"Surreal. Surreal. Surreal," said the two-time GRAMMY nominee. "It's everything that I worked and prayed for, but it's, like, go time. It's real life now. It's not a dream anymore."</p>

<p>She also offered some insight into what goes down on tour with Lizzo. "We be popping champagne," she bragged. "We got, like, this cool a** catering room with, like, vegan options and everything, so I just be, like, pigging out and living my best life, you know?"</p>
