The three stars of 'The Devil Wears Prada' were together again at the 2024 SAG Awards.
On SAG Awards night, everyone wanted to be them.
We're talking about Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep, the famed trio of Devil Wears Prada, who reunited to present on the 2024 SAG Awards stage inside the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday night. The Hallmark moment comes 17 years after the beloved fashion movie debuted in June 2006.
While the three megawatt stars have crossed paths in the years since, their on-stage reunion marks the first time they have made a public appearance together in nearly two decades. Hathaway and Blunt, who played assistants Andrea and Emily to Streep's Miranda Priestly, joined forces on the Oscars stage back in 2007 as they presented the award for Best Costume Design and, in the process, performed a Prada-themed bit with Streep, who was sitting in the audience.
This year, after an intro from Idris Elba, Streep made her way onto the stage, tripping and nearly knocking the microphone over. She proceeded to joke that she forgot two things before her big moment: her glasses and the envelope.
That dilemma was quickly solved by Blunt and Hathaway, who made their way to the stage and stood on each side of Streep. The eldest actress continued then, questioning where the actor ends and the character begins.
Blunt had an answer to that, quipping, "Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins."
"I don't think I'm anything like..." Streep responded of her Devil Wears Prada character, a mean magazine boss.
"No, no," Hathaway interrupted, quoting Streep's character. "That wasn't a question."
As Streep paused, Blunt jumped in, once again quoting her former co-star's iconic character, saying, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that pleases me."
After the trio's time on stage, Tan France, who's hosting the backstage portion of the show, pointed out that there were even more nods to the movie: Streep donned Prada for the occasion and Hathaway wore cerulean blue.
This year's SAG Awards were a particularly special occasion for Blunt, who is a two-time nominee for her performance in Oppenheimer, garnering Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture nods. She has been nominated three times before.
The actresses were in star-studded presenting company during the ceremony as Elba, Jennifer Aniston, Fran Drescher, Margot Robbie, and Billie Eilish were among the many famous names to present during the show.
