Why Meghan Markle Was Not at the 'Suits' Reunion at the Golden Globes Despite Being Invited

The Duchess of Sussex was invited to the ceremony.

Meghan Markle was invited to reunite with her Suits family. After Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres reunited sans Markle to present the Best Television Series, Drama category at the 2024 Golden Globes, ET has learned why the Duchess of Sussex wasn't present.

Markle was invited to attend the Suits reunion at the Golden Globes but sadly had a preexisting commitment, ET has learned.

The actress, who married Prince Harry in 2018, played Rachel Zane on the hit drama. ET spoke to her former co-stars ahead of the ceremony, with Rafferty, who played Donna Paulsen in the series, saying, "It's so nice to see old friends again."

"It's exciting," Macht, who played Harvey Spector, agreed. "I'll see some of my cast members from the show. I'll see some friends from some movies that I've made years ago. It’s nice to be included in the evening."

As for Suits' recent resurgence, Macht explained why "it wasn't a shocking moment" for him.

"The show resonates with people," he told ET. "I think people like to watch people in an office or a family and they're working it out. I think it resonates. The show was a big hit when we shot it, and it was a hit around the world, and then [on] Netflix... it’s a new generation that comes in and sees it and goes, 'Wow, this is incredible.' I think people are just catching up."

Now the cast, Adams told ET, stays in touch via a text chain, though one unexpected person is hard to keep up with.

"Mostly, I'm just trying to get Gabriel to respond," Adams, who played Michael Ross, said. "Honestly, he's slow on the text and he has like six different numbers now because he lives in England. So, we're just trying to find out which number works."
