Caitlyn Jenner broke the news on Tuesday that she would not be doing a third season of her docu-series, I Am Cait.

"After two amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it's time for the next adventure," the 66-year-old reality star tweeted. "Thank you E! and thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!"

Jenner's one-hour, 16-episode series debuted on July 26, 2015, and focused on the former Olympian's life after coming out in April 2015 as a transgender woman.

The show documented how Jenner explained her transition to her famous family and friends, and showed how she was adjusting to her new life out in the open. She also became a voice for the transgender community and often looked to her friends -- Jennifer Finney Boylan, Candis Cayne, Chandi Moore, Zackary Drucker and Kate Bornstein, for guidance -- even at times butting heads when it came to her Republican political views.

In the season two finale of I Am Cait, Cayne praised her friend for how far she'd come since her transition. "You're living proof that it's never too late to make a change in the world," she said. "And you're really just a sweet person on top of that."

Jenner also got sentimental when speaking to her friends. "We spent a lot of time together," she shared. "We poured our hearts out, we spoke with passion, hopefully some respect. Have I made mistakes? Yeah but that's OK, you learn from it and you move on."
