From royal weddings and babies to surprising splits, rehab stints and TV scandals, there wasn't a dull moment in 2018!

There was barely a dull moment to be found in 2018!

Whirlwind weddings captured the world this year, from Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ incredible Indian nuptials, just months after they started dating, to Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s secret September ceremony. Then, of course, there was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who tied the knot at Windsor Castle in May, six months after confirming their engagement.

But for every captivating wedding, there was a shocking split, and 2018 saw the end of much-loved couples including Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, and Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.

There was also no shortage of celebrity scandal, with Roseanne Barr showing how one tweet can change your life in May, while Khloe Kardashian’s world was rocked by Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandal just days before she welcomed their daughter, True.

As we head into 2019, let's take a look back at the 19 biggest celebrity stories of the year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding

All eyes were on Windsor Castle in May, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot. Wearing a boatneck gown by Givenchy, the 37-year-old actress arrived with her mom, Dorian Ragland, for the ceremony, where guests including Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, George Clooney and Priyanka Chopra watched as the pair exchanged Cleave and Company rings.

After a lengthy sermon from the Dean of Windsor, the two were announced husband and wife and locked lips during a hotly-anticipated fairytale kiss on the steps of Windsor Castle.

If that wasn’t enough for royal watchers, less than six months later, the two announced they were expecting their first child in 2019, then took off on an adventurous royal tour of Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand, where fans couldn’t get enough of sweet moments like Markle reconnecting with a Suits fan and Harry getting beaten by his wife in a gumboot-throwing contest.

Roseanne Barr's Sitcom Scandal

One tweet led to the disastrous downfall of Roseanne Barr in May. It all started when the 66-year-old sitcom star posted an offensive comment about Barack Obama's former White House adviser, Valerie Jarrett. “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” she wrote in a tweet that was later deleted.

By the end of the day, ABC had cancelled Barr’s Roseanne TV reboot and costars including Sara Gilbert had declared Barr “abhorrent.” Barr later blamed the prescription sleep aid Ambien for her social media actions. A spin-off, The Connors, has since gone to air on ABC, with Barr’s character killed off due to an accidental opioid overdose. Although she has been laying low since the drama, Barr took to Twitter over Thanksgiving weekend to deny rumors that she had suffered a heart attack.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' Whirlwind Bollywood Wedding

Bollywood bride! Following an epic Memorial Day Weekend which saw the couple (who were first linked when they attended the 2017 Met Gala together) enjoy a baseball game, a musical and a day on a yacht, the cute couple were engaged by July, kicked off pre-wedding celebrations by October and tied the knot in a stunning Indian ceremony in Jodhpur, India, in December.

Dressed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Chopra sparkled in an exquisite red sari while Jonas looked every bit a dashing Bollywood groom in a traditional outfit complete with turban. Before the gorgeous cultural experience, the two made things official the day before with a Christian ceremony officiated by Jonas’ father at Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. “This is such a wonderful new step in my life and I’m still getting used to it, because it’s obviously been a whirlwind. I haven’t seen myself happier,” Chopra gushed to ET in the weeks leading up to the nuptials.

Tristan Thompson's Cheating Scandal

Khloe Kardashian’s world was rocked when reports claiming that her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had been cheating on her surfaced just days before she gave birth to their first child, True, in April.

A rocky few months followed and Kardashian shared how she pulled herself together for True’s birth during a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. "I wanted to have a beautiful birthing experience for myself and for the memories of what I choose to share with True when she’s older," she explained. "I want her to have videos and pictures of her daddy there, holding her etc. I want her to know she is LOVE and my happiness! Babies feel energy! I chose to put my feelings aside for the birth and to try and have as much positive energy that I could.” The two have reconciled since the drama, with a source telling ET in October that Kardashian was back in Cleveland, Ohio, and that the couple are “still working things out.”

Kylie Jenner Gives Birth to Baby Stormi

After keeping her lips sealed for the full term of her pregnancy, Kylie Jenner confirmed that she had welcomed her first child, Stormi, with boyfriend Travis Scott in February. The 21-year-old cosmetics queen shared the news on social media by explaining why she had tried to hide her pregnancy from the world, gushing how she had “never felt love and happiness like this,” and posting an intimate video chronicling her pregnancy.

Although she had tried to keep the news under wraps, ET confirmed Jenner’s pregnancy in September 2017. "Kylie always wanted to be a young mom," a source said at the time. "She may be young, but she's very maternal and has lots of practice with babies!"

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B's Explosive Twitter Feud

A celebrity feud for the ages! In October, Nicki Minaj called for peace following a nasty, weeks-long war of words with fellow rapper Cardi B. The ladies became embroiled in a social media war after getting into a physical altercation at a New York Fashion Week party in September. Tensions were heightened after Minaj claimed on her Queen Beats radio show that her friend, Rah Ali, had hit Cardi with “the hardest punches you’ve ever heard in your life, which prompted Cardi to post a series of videos slamming Minaj on Instagram.

A day later, Minaj suggested everyone “focus on positive things,” in a bid to end the drama. Cardi promptly reposted the message, adding a caption encouraging positivity, and the two appear to have maintained peace on social media since. Phew!

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Split

Two-and-a-half years after tying the knot in a secret ceremony at their home in Bel Air, California, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux confirmed they were getting a divorce in February. “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation," the pair said in a statement. "This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."

After the news broke, a source told ET that tension over where the couple should live was a factor in their relationship cracks. "He much prefers being [in New York] and that's been a major issue for them for a long time," the source said. Aniston, who was previously married to Brad Pitt for nearly five years, opened up about the breakup in an InStyle article published in August, in which she refuted claims that she had been left heartbroken. "It’s pretty crazy. The misconceptions are 'Jen can’t keep a man,' ... Or that I’m sad and heartbroken," Aniston said. "First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken."

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Smith Split

Another shocking split! Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced they had “lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” in April. The two first met on the 2006 dance flick, Step Up, got married in 2009 and welcomed daughter Everly in 2013. The actors have since moved on, with Tatum dating singer Jessie J -- with Dewan even taking to social media to show her support for the “Domino” singer after she received mean comments comparing her to Dewan.

Meanwhile, Dewan is coupled up with Tony-winning actor Steve Kazee. "I do believe in love still, but I also believe it begins with really digging deep and learning how to love yourself," Dewan recently told Cosmopolitan. "And, then I think you sort of transmute that out to attract the right partner. I think that people who are meant to be sort of find each other."

Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Becomes Public Enemy No. 1

Arie Luyendyk found himself becoming one of the biggest villains in Bachelor history after proposing to Becca Kufrin in the season 22 finale, before calling off the engagement to be with his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. The cringeworthy split with Kufrin was captured in a lengthy segment in the finale, which Luyendyk claimed was edited (despite being advertised as “unedited”).

"Everyone makes me out to be the bad guy for filming it," he told GQ. "I think if you look back at it now, it was positive for everyone. Everyone ended up getting closure and also an opportunity to be with the person that they were really meant to be with." Indeed, both reality stars have well and truly moved on -- Kufrin went on to star in The Bachelorette and get engaged to Garrett Yrigoyen in the finale, while Luyendyk and Burnham are preparing to the tie the knot and expecting their first child.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Get Engaged Then Split Amid Mac Miller's Death

Following a whirlwind romance, which saw them getting engaged after less than a month of dating, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson called it quits in October -- just weeks after Grande’s ex, Mac Miller, died of an accidental overdose. “Ariana made the final decision," a source told ET at the time. "It was time to realize this wasn’t the right time for them and Pete is incredibly heartbroken. Pete is still so in love with her. He wanted his whole world to revolve around her but she was emotionally unavailable.”

Grande has since covered up a tattoo honoring Davidson’s late father with the name of Miller’s dog, Myron. Meanwhile, the Saturday Night Live star has been dealing with cyberbullying and recently took to Instagram to vow he wouldn’t let hurtful comments threaten his life.

The two were spotted registering for a marriage license in New York City in September and ET confirmed they wed shortly after. "The couple kept their marriage a secret from a lot of people” the source said. “Justin and Hailey wanted to be married, and didn’t want to wait. They still plan to have a more formal wedding, but for them this intimate ceremony was exactly what they wanted.”

In November, Baldwin changed her name to “Hailey Bieber” on Instagram. The two were friends first, meeting nearly 10 years ago and briefly dating in 2015 and 2016, before rekindling their romance and getting engaged in the Bahamas in July.

"Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle," he wrote. "Because of that one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a lifelong commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.” A month after leaving the facility, Affleck and Garner’s divorce was finalized, however the pair remain amicable, spotted a day later enjoying ice cream with their son, Samuel.

Anthony Bourdain Dies

The world was shocked when renowned food critic, chef, author and television star Anthony Bourdain passed away in June during a visit to France, where he was working on his popular CNN series, Parts Unknown. Aged 61 at the time, the foodie died of an apparent suicide and was found in his hotel room by friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert.

Bourdain left behind an 11-year-old daughter, Ariane, and girlfriend Asia Argento. Many celebrities were saddened by the death, which came just days after designer Kate Spade took her life.

“He brought the world into our homes and inspired so many people to explore cultures and cities through their food,” chef Gordon Ramsay tweeted. Former US president Barack Obama meanwhile praised the star for bringing people together. “He taught us about food -- but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together,” he captioned a photo with Bourdain. “To make us a little less afraid of the unknown.”

Kanye West Talks Opioids, Liposuction and President Donald Trump

Kanye West opened up like never before in May, discussing how physical insecurities and liposuction led him to a struggle with opioid addiction in 2016. "Two days before I was in the hospital [for liposuction,] I was on opioids. I was addicted to opioids," he revealed on TMZ Live. "I had plastic surgery because I was trying to look good for y'all. I got liposuction because I didn't want y'all to call me fat, like y'all called Rob [Kardashian] at the wedding, and made him fly home before me and Kim [Kardashian] got married.”

“I didn't want y'all to call me fat, so I got liposuction, and they gave me opioids," he continued. "And I started taking two of them and driving to work on the opioids." West said two days after he stopped taking the drugs he was hospitalized.

In another sit down with TMZ in October, the musician shared his hopes to bring President Donald Trump face-to-face with football star Colin Kaepernick (after Trump called for athletes like Kaepernick, who don’t stand up for the national anthem, to be fired) and said he was off medication and that he could, “wear whatever I want ‘cause I’m a god.”

Demi Lovato Hospitalized

Lovatics went into panic mode when the 26-year-old songstress was hospitalized for a drug overdose in July. According to a dispatch call obtained by ET, Lovato was unconscious when paramedics arrived at her Hollywood Hills home. TMZ reported that she was then treated with Narcan (an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses) at her home before being taken to hospital. "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction," Lovato said, addressing her health struggles in an Instagram post in August. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

In November, she was photographed out and about and looking healthy, having left rehab following a reported three months of treatment. She also looked well in an Instagram post from a jiu jitsu session earlier this month. Lovato has long struggled with substance abuse and weeks before her hospitalization she even released a song, called “Sober,” about relapsing.

Selena Gomez Hospitalized for Mental Health Issues

Selena Gomez was hospitalized in October as she continued to deal with mental health issues. "Selena has dealt with depression for a while and her and the people around her have always kept an eye on how she feels, even more so since her kidney transplant,” a source told ET. “Selena wasn’t feeling well and went to the hospital, as she does whenever she feels off. After further monitoring it was decided that Selena would seek treatment at a [mental health] facility."

The 26-year-old singer suffers from Lupus, underwent a kidney transplant last summer and has been vocal about her struggles with mental health and depression. Earlier this year, she completed a 2-week treatment program for wellness.

Bill Cosby Goes to Jail

In September, actor Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison, after being found guilty in April of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman. The 81-year-old entered the State Correctional Institution at Phoenix, a new $400 million, maximum-security prison in Pennsylvania.

Cosby’s lawyers are appealing his sexual assault conviction and prison term, and earlier this month they filed a list of nearly one dozen alleged errors in his trial.

Pusha T Reveals Drake Has a Secret Child

After a back-and-forth feud, rapper Pusha T announced that Drake had a secret child in his song “The Story of Adidon,” released in May. Following the reveal, Drake discussed fatherhood to his little boy, named Adonis, on LeBron James' HBO show, The Shop, in October. “[I was] more scared to tell my mom, because my mom has had real belief and real relationships with women in my life over the course of my years. I’m sure she would expect or be elated if I were to have gotten one of those women pregnant. So, it was tough for me to tell her that it’s somebody that she’s never met,” he said, referring to Adonis’ mother, former adult film star Sophie Brussaux.

“I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who … you know, we’ve had our moments, right?" he continued. "And I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible, and now I’m just really excited to be a great father. I have a son -- he’s a beautiful boy.”
