The 73-year-old took a bad fall last week.

Susan Sarandon is still recovering.

Earlier this week, the 73-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a shot of herself with a large black eye. The massive black and dark purple bruise was due to a fall she took last week, which also resulted in a concussion, a welt on her forehead, and a fractured nose.

"I’m lucky. I have Medicare to cover my visit to ER. Everyone deserves the same, not access, not pathway to, not option," Sarandon captioned the post, before expressing her endorsement for Senator Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidential election.

"M4A saves $. Nobody loses their home because of cancer, no rationing insulin," she added. "You know, like the rest of the free world. #bernie2020"

She first posted about her fall last week, sharing side-by-side images of the bump on her forehead and the then much smaller black eye. Sarandon's slip caused her to miss an event with Sanders, but she still made sure to be vocal about why she was endorsing him in her initial post.

"This is not the time for a 'pathway' to or 'framework' for incremental change," she wrote in part. "Emergencies require bold, visionary leadership. Senator Sanders believes in us and that together a better world is possible. He has been fighting for social, racial and economic justice his entire life, long before running for President, often before it was acceptable. Now it’s time for us to fight for him."

Sarandon is one of the most outspoken celebrities when it comes to politics. Last June, she was arrested during a Capitol Hill protest of President Donald Trump's immigration policies and family separations at the southern border.
