'Wreck-It Ralph' Crushes the Weekend Box Office

Taking in an estimated $49.1 million this weekend, Wreck-It Ralph smashed its box-office competition to bits.

The family-friendly animated film held a considerable lead from the week's runner-up Flight, which took in $25 million for its debut.

Denzel Washington's gut-wrenching drama soared above Ben Affleck's Argo, which pulled in a hefty $10.2 million in its fourth week. Neck-and-neck with the political film was the RZA-directed kung-fu flick, The Man With the Iron Fists ($10.2 million).

Taken 2 claimed the fifth position with $6 million, followed by Cloud Atlas at $5.3 million and Hotel Transylvania in seventh with $4.5 million.
Paranormal Activity 4 ($4.3 million), Here Comes the Boom ($3.6 million) and Silent Hill: Revelation ($3.3 million) rounded out the weekend box office.
