Camila Morrone is opening up about her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio.
In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, the model-turned-actress, 22, addresses her age difference with the Oscar-winning actor, 45.
"There's so many relationships in Hollywood -- and in the history of the world -- where people have large age gaps," she says, acknowledging that judgment about her relationship does bother her at times. "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."
Morrone understands, however, why the public is so fascinated by her and DiCaprio as a couple. The two have been romantically linked since December 2017.
"I probably would be curious about it too," she admits. "I think more and more now that people are seeing [my new film Mickey and the Bear], I'm slowly getting an identity outside of that."
"Which is frustrating, because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you're dating," she adds. "I understand the association, but I'm confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation."
ET caught up with Morrone at the red carpet premiere for the film last month, where she discussed how growing up in Hollywood (with parents actress Lucila Sola and model Máximo Morrone) helped her prepare for her first-ever leading role.
"I was fortunate in the sense that I grew up in Hollywood, so I feel like I saw a lot of that and I was exposed to that at a very young age," she said. "But, I didn't feel overwhelmed when I got into this industry because my parents were actors …so I was very exposed to it. More so than if I had come from a different country or small town. So I feel that I got a little bit of an extra foot in the door because I knew what I was getting myself into."
