Jordin Sparks and Husband Dana Set the Record Straight After He Shares Photo of Female Friend (Exclusive)

'We know what it is.'

Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah are opening up about their relationship.

ET's Kevin Frazier caught up with the couple at the premiere of Jumanji: The Next Level, and they spoke out about the controversy surrounding a photo Isaiah posted last month. In the pic, a grinning Isaiah is out to eat with his friend, McKenna Roice, who's photographed with her arm draped over his shoulders.

"I was like, 'Well, I know what it is so I'm not trippin,'" Sparks said of the photo in question.

"It is what it is," Isaiah added, to which Sparks agreed saying, "We know what it is."

Sparks initially commented on the pic when it was posted, writing, "Awww I love you both! ♥️ She’s such a treasure!"

After some comments on the post turned negative, Sparks returned to the comment section with a longer note encouraging trust in relationships.

"If your significant other is making you cut off your really good, stand up, been there since forever friends, male or female...GET OUT. (Not talking about the friends that are toxic/frenemies, that’s a problem and should be addressed)," she wrote. "That’s controlling/toxic and people are NOT objects you own. Again, people are NOT OBJECTS YOU OWN."

"Friends are super important for your well-being especially those that knew you before certain huge life changes happen," she added. "It’s HEALTHY. I hope you all find someone that treats you like my husband and his friends do. They are truly the best. May the odds be ever in your favor. ♥️"

Likewise, Isaiah defended himself in the comments too, telling one person that "a lot of people [are] in crappy" relationships because "y’all don’t let y’all man have friends or a life."

"I’m so sorry I’m smiling too big for your comfort," he added. "I'll will work harder to make you happy with what i post"

Roice also commented on the post, writing, "These comments are wild! Too good seeing you last night. Can’t wait to hang when the whole fam is in town soon ❤️"

During ET's chat with the couple, Sparks also opened up about their 1-year-old son, Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr.

"Everything has changed," she said of life after becoming parents. "But I think the most amazing thing for both of us is... [he] has, like, amped us up, I guess, for all the choices that we make. It's all for when he can do whatever he wants."

"We want him to have what we didn't have growing up," Isaiah added.
