Celebs are just like us -- they love to have their moms around! Quite a few actors have been known to bring their mothers as their dates to big red carpet events, and it's pretty much the sweetest thing ever. In fact, the Oscars frequently feature mother-daughter and mother-son duos, especially the last two red carpets. Here are some major moments between A-listers and their mamas over the years.
Beyoncé and Tina Knowles Lawson
The gorgeous gals both looked red hot a Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show Press Conference in New Orleans in January 2013. Tina, who is also mom to singer Solange, is famously a fierce advocate for her daughter and back in the day, she even famously made Destiny's Child's costumes. More recently, Queen Bey gave her mom a shout-out on Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage" remix, which actually came as a surprise to Tina. In the remix, Bey sings, “I’m a boss, I’m a leader, I pull up in my two-seater. And my momma was a savage, think I got this sh*t from Tina.” Tina told ET she thought that "was really, really cute." "People started texting me [saying,] ‘OK, savage,’ and I was like, ‘What are they talking about?’” she said. "It’s funny, when I was young, I used to drive a convertible and I used to drive up to Beyoncé’s school and she would say, ‘Mama, you are a hot mama.'"
Ariana Grande and Joan Grande
The pint-sized pop star gave her mom a big kiss at the 2020 GRAMMYs. Ariana's father, Edward Butera, joined his famous daughter for her big night as well.
Ryan Reynolds and Tammy Reynolds
Clad in a sharp navy blue tux, the Deadpool star was beaming as he posed for pics with his mother at the Time 100 Gala in New York City in April 2017. The next year, Tammy also joined her son and his wife, Blake Lively, at the A Quiet Place premiere.

Nicole Kidman and Janelle Ann Kidman
The Oscar winner brought her mom with her to the 2018 AACTA Awards in Sydney, Australia. A couple of years later, amid the coronavirus pandemic, the actress found herself separated from her mother for eight months. Nicole and husband Keith Urban had been quarantining with their two daughters in the United States, where she now lives, and had been unable to reunite with her mother in her home country of Australia. She shared a photo when they were finally able to be together again, writing on Instagram, "Feels so good to be able to hug my mum!"
Taylor Swift and Andrea Swift
Two thumbs up to these bubble blondes! The "Lover" singer is very close to her mom and Andrea has attended a ton of events with her superstar offspring. That was especially so early in Taylor's career, including the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards, the 2010 American Music Awards and the 2010 GRAMMys.
Ben Affleck and Christine Anne Boldt and Matt Damon and Nancy Carlsson-Paige
Matt and Ben -- you know, one of the greatest bromances of the '90s -- brought their mamas to the 1998 Oscars, where they won Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen for Good Will Hunting.

Before that, all five girls hadn't posed with their mom on a red carpet since 2011! Laura Dern and Diane Ladd
Forty-five years after she was her mom’s date to the 1975 Oscars, Laura walked the red carpet with Diane by her side at the 2020 Oscars. Laura won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Netflix’s Marriage Story -- the same category that her mother was nominated for following her role in the 1974 film, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. The Big Little Liars star was 6 years old at the time and attended the ceremony with her mom in what would become a hugely impactful day. “I remember it being scary and overwhelming,” Dern recalled to Vanity Fair about that first mother-daughter Oscars date. “I also remember my mom feeling proud of herself and loving her work … and I remember thinking, ‘Whatever I do when I grow up, I want to really love my job and feel proud of it.’ I’ve never forgotten that.”

Barbara has had a rough couple of years, including both a bad car accident and a relapse of breast cancer in 2018, but Russell -- an only child -- is incredibly close to her and always by her side when she needs him; he's even canceled shows to rush to take care of her.
