The 5 Best 2015 SAG Awards Hairstyles

Sunday night's SAG Awards wasn't all about the dresses.

ET is talking to "IT" hair care and beauty expert, Tracy Von Vechery, who's breaking down the best hairdos of the night!

Let's start with Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, who Tracy says excelled at being "modern and chic."

"She presented a perfect harmony of elegance and sophistication, with playfulness and ease," Tracy says. "Her updo was fresh and edgy, rocking a playful twisted braid in the back. The architectural wrap in the back took an average undo up a notch for a younger, fresher look. I love how this look is both sophisticated and girly!"

She recommends pairing this look at home with a dress with a plunging neckline -- much like Sarah's own custom Vera Wang gown  -- for a similar stunning effect.

And don't forget the hairspray.

"To get the look, you'll need a hair spray that can keep a 'do locked in place all day and night," Tracy advises.

The Shameless star channeled "modern, elegant punk," Tracy comments. "It's edgy, yet glamorous. It's risky, yet at the same time safe."

She recommends applying hair oil before styling and adding hairspray for an Emmy-like look.

The Wild star can do no wrong when it comes to the red carpet. "Reese did not disappoint with a side part, sleek pony ever so gently twisted," Tracy says. "This screamed gorgeous 'old meets new Hollywood.'"  

To tame pesky fly-aways for a similar look, she recommends this little trick -- spray a little bit of hair spray on a toothbrush and gently pull back the stray hairs.

The former brunette and Chicago P.D. star was almost unrecognizable on the red carpet, thanks to her blonde curls. "Sophia's ringlets were tucked into a sort of faux bob," Tracy explains. "Her curls were soft and playful with one side of her hair longer than the other, giving it a relaxed and modern, yet still glamorous feel."

Unfortunately, Sophia's great hair wasn't enough to keep her off our worst-dressed list.

"After the hair it all fell apart," Tracy agrees. "Please, not only is your stylist your best friend, but so too is your tailor. Get fittings!"

To get Sophia's look, she recommends applying hair oil to the tips of hair to tame frizz and protect locks during heat styling. Next, apply surf spray to hair, then diffuse with a blow dryer. Diffusing hair will create thicker waves and a gentle curl. Finally, finish off your curls with a curling iron.

The Homeland star's unfussy waves were another big hit for Tracy. "Her radiant shoulder-length blonde hair had movement and elegance," she comments. "A side part added to the overall fresh, youthful and pretty look of her style that boasted soft playful curls."    

She recommends blow drying your locks after using a leave-in treatment to achieve this relaxed look.
