The much-anticipated Avengers sequel is technically the final movie in Marvel's Phase Two, but its May 1, 2015 release date makes it worthy of inclusion. Age of Ultron will feature all the returning stars from the first Avengers film, plus some new faces in Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver.

The Paul Rudd-fronted superhero flick is currently in production and scheduled for a July 17, 2015 release.

Captain America: Civil War

Feige teased the audience at first, claiming that the subtitle for the third Captain America film would be "Serpent Society." He didn't make the fanboys sweat for too long, however, bringing Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. out on stage to announce the highly anticipated "Civil War" storyline, which pits Captain America against Iron Man in a battle between national security and personal privacy. The film is slated to be released on May 6, 2016.

Doctor Strange

In early December, Benedict Cumberbatch was confirmed as the titular character in Marvel's Doctor Strange, as the neurosurgeon-turned-sorceror who protects Earth against mystical threats. The film's scheduled release date is November 4, 2016.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Guardians director James Gunn joined the event via videoconference to announce that the sequel to the summer's blockbuster hit will be released on May 5, 2017.

Thor: Ragnarok

The third and final movie in the Thor franchise picks up with the demigod "right after we leave him in Avengers 2, and will impact everything to come afterwards," Feige announced, also cluing the audience in that the subtitle means "essentially the end of all things." The film, which will star Chris Hemsworth and feature Tom Hiddleston returning as Loki, is scheduled to be released on July 28, 2017.

Black Panther

The newest casting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Get On Up star Chadwick Boseman joined the Marvel team at the Phase Three debut to announce his role as Black Panther, who will first appear in Captain America: Civil War and get his own movie scheduled for release on November 3, 2017. Black Panther, also known as T'Challa, was the first black superhero in mainstream American comics.

The final piece of the Avengers saga will be split into two movies, released one year apart. The films will focus on the heroes of the Marvel Universe battling against an all-powerful Thanos, who has finally collected the six Infinity Stones introduced throughout the earlier Marvel films. The first Avengers: Infinity War is slated to premiere on May 4, 2018.

Captain Marvel, a.k.a. Carol Danvers, will headline the first female-led film from Marvel Studios, scheduled for release on July 6, 2018.

"This film has been in the works almost as long as Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy before it came out," said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige at the Phase Three announcement. "Her adventures are very earthbound, but her powers are based in the cosmic realm."

Inhumans

Marvel's 20th feature film will focus on the Inhumans, a secluded society of unique mutants that have their superpowers unlocked by a special vapor called the Terrigen Mist. The film's scheduled release is November 2, 2018.
