<p>Chef Ludo Lefebvre has Gomez demonstrate with one of her knives in the premiere episode of the series.&nbsp;Impressed her knives are up to his standards, Lefebvre says in astonishment, “Selena, I’ve never seen blue knives like that.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I love your knives by the way. So cool… They look beautiful,” Kumai tells Gomez, who responds by saying that she’s been getting so many compliments on them.&nbsp;In another episode, when asked if she likes Gomez’s set, Lofaso says, “I do. It’s like a Coachella knife.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking with ET, the former <em>Top Chef</em> contestant explains why the knives caught the attention of all the guest chefs on the show. “You know, chefs, we like to poke fun at people. I just don't know what it is about us,” Lofaso says.&nbsp;</p>

Where'd you get that?’ You know what I mean?”</p>

<p>Earlier, when promoting the series via a virtual presentation for HBO Max, Gomez told reporters that “Ludo&nbsp;made fun of me a lot,” while adding that the show is meant to be lighthearted amid everything else going on in the real world.&nbsp;She added that she hopes “this is something that will make people smile.”</p>

Selena Gomez's Rainbow Knives from 'Selena + Chef' Are on Sale Ahead of Amazon's October Prime Day

<p>The Emmy-winning drama series, centered on the cutthroat world of television news and starring <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jennifer-aniston" rel="" target="_blank">Jennifer Aniston</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/reese-witherspoon" rel="" target="_blank">Reese Witherspoon</a> as anchors at the fictional network UBA, is just days away from being back on our screens. After a twist-filled second season that saw the series adjusting to and incorporating the ongoing health scare and social uprisings that unfolded at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Apple TV+ <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-renewed-for-season-3-on-apple-plus-177523" rel="" target="_blank">renewed</a> it for season 3, which is set to premiere on Sept. 13.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As anticipation builds for its return to the streaming platform -- with fans dying to know what comes next for Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Witherspoon) -- the series has filmed on location in New York City and padded it's already star-studded ensemble with even bigger names, like <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jon-hamm" rel="" target="_blank">Jon Hamm</a>. With the season 3 countdown coming to an end,&nbsp;here's everything to know about the upcoming season, including who's joining and where things are headed.</p>

<h3><strong>How Things Ended in Season 2</strong>&nbsp;</h3>

<p>Season 2's wild ride <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-cast-reflects-on-an-emotional-season-2-finale-exclusive-175222" rel="" target="_blank">ended</a> with many of UBA’s employees left at unexpected crossroads in their professional and personal lives.&nbsp;For Alex, that meant facing the reality of what happened between her and Mitch (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/steve-carell" rel="" target="_blank">Steve Carell</a>), all of which was revealed as Maggie Brener (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/marcia-gay-harden" rel="" target="_blank">Marcia Gay Harden</a>) promoted the release of her tell-all book, <em>The Wrong Side of the Bed</em>. While coming to terms with his unexpected death, Alex also tested positive for COVID-19.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During Alex's attempt to recover from the virus, Cory Ellison (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/billy-crudup" rel="" target="_blank">Billy Crudup</a>) had Chip Black (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/mark-duplass" rel="" target="_blank">Mark Duplass</a>) produce a digital series for UBA+, the network's new streaming service. While documenting her health battle, Alex and Chip reconciled before it was&nbsp;later revealed that Chip lied about testing positive in order to work alongside her. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Worried about the seriousness of the pandemic given her heart condition, Laura Peterson (Julianna Margulies) fled New York City for Montana and invited&nbsp;Bradley to come live with her. While Bradley’s exploration of her sexuality led her on a path to discovering her authentic self, it’s also created a love triangle between her, Laura and Cory, who put his career on the line with the poorly timed launch of UBA+.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Elsewhere, Stella Bak (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/greta-lee" rel="" target="_blank">Greta Lee</a>), <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-greta-lee-on-stellas-big-confrontations-in-episode-6-exclusive-174125" rel="" target="_blank">Cory’s replacement</a> as president of the news division, was left trying to salvage what she can when much of the&nbsp;<em>TMS</em> team was exposed to COVID by Alex. As a result, she turned&nbsp;to Yanko Flores (Néstor Carbonell) to man the show's desk after co-host <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-star-desean-terry-on-serenading-jennifer-aniston-in-episode-4-exclusive-173358" rel="" target="_blank">Daniel Henderson</a> (Desean Terry) unexpectedly quit&nbsp;and Bradley went off to search&nbsp;for her missing brother. &nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>New and Returning Cast Members</strong></h3>

<p>Sadly, there are two people definitely not returning in season 3. One of them is Carell, whose character died in shocking fashion during season 2, when Mitch drove his car off a cliff in Italy. "I thought it was quite shocking and... it’s a gut punch to the heart and soul for Alex,"&nbsp;Aniston <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-season-2-jennifer-aniston-and-the-cast-react-to-that-shocking-death-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">said at the time</a>, sharing that the whole situation is "tragically poetic."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Carell <a href="https://www.etonline.com/steve-carell-on-possibility-of-morning-show-return-and-emotional-new-series-the-patient-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">later added</a>, "That was a lot of fun to work on. That was a great group of people and I enjoyed that." &nbsp;</p>

<p>The other is Harden, who told ET that she was busy filming her new CBS series, <em>So Help Me Todd</em>, and was unlikely to be available for season 3. "If we could work it in so that Maggie could come back for a day or two, I would love that," the actress offered. "She's got to drum up another interesting story. And I think because of how it was left off, she has to drum it up with a different kind of humanity."</p>

<p>Much of the expanded ensemble, however, is expected to return. "Obviously, Jen and I are back," Witherspoon <a href="https://www.etonline.com/reese-witherspoon-says-jon-hamms-the-morning-show-character-is-pulled-from-real-life-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">told ET</a>. "We still have the amazing Karen Pittman and Billy Crudup, and so many of the cast members that people love." Not only that, but Margulies is coming back. Initially, it wasn't clear if she would reprise her role&nbsp;as Laura, especially after her character planned to move to Montana. However, Apple TV+ <a href="https://www.etonline.com/julianna-margulies-returning-for-the-morning-show-season-3-189513" rel="" target="_blank">confirmed</a> that she will be part of season 3.</p>

Witherspoon added, "He's playing this amazing character that I can't wait for people to see, because it's sort of pulled from real life a little bit."</p>

<p>While Mindy Kaling, who has made appearances as rival news anchor Audra, wouldn't confirm if she's returning for season 3, she did <a href="https://www.etonline.com/media/videos/mindy-kaling-praises-bj-novaks-godfather-skills-and-reacts-to-jon-hamm-joining-the" rel="" target="_blank">tell ET</a> that Hamm "will be amazing on it."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for future guest stars, there are two that come to mind: <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/george-clooney" rel="" target="_blank">George Clooney</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/adam-sandler" rel="" target="_blank">Adam Sandler</a>.&nbsp;When ET asked Margulies if her former <em>ER</em> co-star should join the cast in season 3, she responded by suggesting that "maybe he’ll come visit." And he's not the only A-list star who could swing by. Sandler, who has shared the screen with Aniston a number of times, said it "would be great" to appear on the series. His only caveat? "Their monologues are so long," he joked, before adding, "When we do press for [<em>Murder Mystery 2</em>] I'll bother her about being on her show."&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Season 3 Plot and Timeline</strong>&nbsp;</h3>

<p>Season 3 will be led by executive producer and showrunner Charlotte Stoudt while Mimi Leder has returned to direct and executive produce.</p>

<p>In <a href="https://www.etonline.com/the-morning-show-season-3-trailer-a-nuclear-cyber-attack-threatens-everyone-210253" rel="" target="_blank">the official trailer</a>, viewers see the newsroom get locked down by hackers as UBA faces a cyber attack. With the threat of secrets coming out, Bradley admitting to a "huge mistake," and Paul taking a financial interest in UBA -- and Alex -- it looks like the network is far from steady footing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Witherspoon hinted to ET that the new episodes will take place "after the pandemic" but stopped short of confirming exactly when. "I can't tell you anything," she quipped. "But it's really juicy and good."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Later, Witherspoon <a href="https://www.etonline.com/reese-witherspoon-teases-lots-of-romance-in-season-3-of-the-morning-show-exclusive-197688" rel="" target="_blank">revealed that</a> "there is lots of romance this year."</p>

'The Morning Show' Season 3: Your Guide to the Plot, New Cast Members and More Ahead of the Premiere

<p><em><a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/american-horror-story" rel="" target="_blank">American Horror Story: Delicate</a> </em>looks a lot&nbsp;like <em>Rosemary's Baby</em> for the modern age.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/american-horror-story-delicate-kim-kardashian-is-giving-momager-vibes-in-new-trailer-203400" rel="" target="_blank">FX released the newest trailer</a> for season 12, which features Kim Kardashian <a href="https://www.etonline.com/american-horror-story-delicate-premiere-date-find-out-when-kim-kardashians-creepy-new-role-debuts" rel="" target="_blank">portraying Siobhan Walsh</a>, a manager-type -- much like that of her momager, Kris Jenner -- who represents Emma Robert's character, Anna Victoria Alcott.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It's clear that Anna is actively trying to have a baby with her husband,&nbsp;Dexter Harding (Matt Czuchry), while also having a thriving career. Once Anna does finally get pregnant, things take a turn for the super creepy and nobody seems on her side, including Siobhan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Do you want an Oscar?" Siobhan asks Anna. "Do you want it as much as a baby?" Anna replies, "Yes."</p>

<p>In one hair-raising moment, a pregnant Anna and Siobhan look into a broken mirror and see a message that reads, "Don't do it, Anna."</p>

<p>Kardashian's character gets even creepier when she starts singing the lullaby "Rockabye Baby" to Anna and playing with her hair.&nbsp;</p>

"Emma and Kim are Delicate. This summer," Murphy <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cq3I5RnsAg1/" rel="" target="_blank">posted to Instagram</a>&nbsp;earlier this year alongside a short video teasing the new season.</p>

<p>Following the social media announcement, Murphy commented on Kardashian's casting. "Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family," Murphy <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/kim-kardashian-american-horror-story-season-12-1235370080/" rel="" target="_blank">said in a statement</a> to <em>The Hollywood Reporter</em>.</p>

<p>He added, "Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. [Showrunner] Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."</p>

<p>While this marks Kardashian's first time in Murphy's extended universe, season 12 sees Roberts returning to the <em>AHS</em> franchise after last appearing in season 9's <em>1984</em>. She has also starred in the Fox series, <em>Scream Queens</em>, which was created by Murphy, Falchuk and Ian Brennan.&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/matt-czuchry" rel="" target="_blank">Czuchry</a>&nbsp;joined the cast as Dexter Harding after the cancellation of <em>The Resident</em> after six seasons on Fox.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Later, it was revealed that Rodriguez had been added to the cast as Talia, reuniting her with Murphy after starring in <em>Pose</em>. After <em>Deadline</em>&nbsp;first reported the news, the Emmy-nominated actress <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CrmAjcZPyEf/?hl=en" rel="" target="_blank">confirmed it</a> on Instagram. "Guess the cats out of the bag 😈&nbsp;," she wrote.</p>

<p>Additionally, <em>Succession</em> breakout Annabelle Dexter-Jones was added to the ensemble as Adeline, marking her second major role alongside <em>Based on a True Story</em> following the fourth and final season of the HBO drama.&nbsp;Other additions reported include Debra Monk as Dr. Carla Hill, Julie White as&nbsp;Ms. Io Preecher and&nbsp;Odessa A'zion.&nbsp;</p>

He also revealed that he got to meet her after filming a "cameo on this season."</p>

<p>The new season is being adapted by Feiffer from Danielle Valentine’s novel,&nbsp;<em>Delicate Condition</em>. According to its publisher, the book is being described as a "feminist update to <em>Rosemary’s Baby</em>."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, a description of the novel on Amazon&nbsp;<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Delicate-Condition-Danielle-Valentine/dp/1728276888" rel="" target="_blank">reads</a>: "<em>The Push</em> meets <em>The Silent Patient</em> in a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens -- while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says."</p>

<p>Not too many details beyond that have been confirmed, but Oscar-winning director Jessica Yu has also been spotted on set, reportedly helming an episode of the upcoming installment.</p>

<h3><strong>Trailers and Release Date</strong></h3>

<p>Prior to the recent trailer release, FX revealed that <em>American Horror Story: Delicate</em> is "coming soon," with the debut of a <a href="https://www.etonline.com/see-kim-kardashian-as-her-creepy-american-horror-story-delicate-character-in-first-teaser-208391" rel="" target="_blank">stylish new teaser</a> set to a haunting rendition of the lullaby, "Rock-a-bye Baby."&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>They later revealed that Part One of the series will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The show also shared creepy new artwork of Kardashian -- in the same white-blonde wig from&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/see-kim-kardashian-as-her-creepy-american-horror-story-delicate-character-in-first-teaser-208391" rel="" target="_blank">the teaser</a>, with long, spidery eyelashes -- and Roberts, posed&nbsp;with massive spiders pressed to their bodies, mimicking baby bumps.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"You’re in our web now," read Kardashian's pic, while Roberts' was captioned, "Don’t worry. We’ll hold you."</p>

'American Horror Story: Delicate': Kim Kardashian Is Giving Momager Vibes in New Trailer

<p><strong>Warning:&nbsp;Spoilers for <em>The Afterparty</em>&nbsp;season 2, episode five, "Sebastian."&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>On the second season of the acclaimed TV show from executive producers Chris Miller, Phil Lord and Anthony King, Jack Whitehall plays the smug entrepreneur, Sebastian Drapewood, who gets caught up in the mystery surrounding the murder of Edgar Minnows (Zach Woods), after serving as the groom's best man before his untimely death.</p>

<p>Not long after finding Edgar's body, Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) is called in to help Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Zoë (Zoë Chao) with solving the whodunnit before the authorities arrive. Sebastian's interrogation comes halfway through the season, following interviews with and revelations from the bride, Grace (Poppy Liu), Edgar's adopted sister, Hannah (Anna Konkle), and family friend, Travis (Paul Walter Hauser), with each of their stories told through specific genres, or what Miller calls, "mind films." &nbsp;</p>

<p>While recounting his version of events -- which plays out like an <em>Ocean's 11</em> type of heist or crime film during his interrogation -- a number of things about Sebastian are revealed, including the fact he's the person seen streaking the night of the wedding by Vivian (Vivian Wu), Feng (Ken Jeong) and others.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not only that, but he's been faking his English accent this entire time. It also turns out that Sebastian wasn't trying to get Edgar's crypto key as previously suspected. He was actually after a coveted baseball card that his late friend had in his possession.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now that the character's episode in season 2 of <em>The Afterparty</em> is streaming on Apple TV+, the 35-year-old English actor is opening up to ET about what it was like wearing a modesty sock on set as well as having to seduce co-star Elizabeth Perkins, who plays the groom's mother, Isabel.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When it came to filming the streaking scene, the actor stripped down on set several times, appearing almost entirely in the nude aside from a strategically placed piece of costume that he held in place as he ran by the cameras. "They gave me something called a posing pouch, or cock stock, which you put your genitals into and it's there to preserve your modesty," Jack Whitehall says, recounting what it was like to film takes of the streaking scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But after finding it waiting for him in this trailer, "I came out absolutely fuming because they gave me the sock, and then I saw a little sign in it and it said, 'Small.' I was like, 'Why?' Like, surely it should be one size fits all. And also even if it is a small sock, cut out the label or add a fake label, saying 'XXL,'" he recalls.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for all the nudity, Whitehall wishes he would have done things differently. "I ultimately regret not taking the offer of getting a body double," he says, revealing that in the original version of the script, it described Sebastian as having "rippling abs," leading him to believe they had another actor in mind for the role. "I had the ignominy of then reading the script, like, a couple of weeks later and the description had been emitted. The reference to the abs is gone," he says, joking that the production must have thought, "Well, Jack's never gonna get abs."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The actor, however, was determined to prove them wrong. "I was gonna, like, hit the gym. I was gonna starve myself of carbs for three months in the run up to the show. And I was gonna, like, actually deliver on the abs," Whitehall recounts. "And then we got to shooting it on the day, and Chris [Miller] was like, 'Yeah, we probably won't show you from anything other than like the neck on. So, you know, it'll always just be, like, shoulders and face."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I was like, 'Oh great. Well, that was a complete waste of time,'" he continues, before clarifying: "To be clear, I actually hadn't got the abs. I was as close as I've ever got to getting a set of abs. But I got rid of the tire around my waist and then I was like, 'It's kinda nice.' But ultimately, it was just a complete waste of time."</p>

<p>Despite being offered a stand-in, Whitehall remained fully committed to the cause and got naked on the day of filming, but didn't realize he would be doing several takes so it could be captured from everyone's perspective. "By the 10th time of running around that f**king field at three in the morning with my a** out, I was like, 'Why didn't I just take the body double?'"&nbsp;</p>

<p>Upon reflection, if Whitehall had chosen a body double, his character "would've had the abs. He would've had box-solid glutes."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Stripping down in front of Perkins, however, proved to be less stressful -- even if it was the first time the two had worked together. "That was the first day that we met," Whitehall says of the "scene where I strip off in front of her." He adds, "It was a bit of an icebreaker and I was very much chucked into the deep end with her."&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, as it turns out, Perkins -- who, between <em>Minx</em> and <em>The Afterparty</em>, has found herself <a href="https://www.etonline.com/minx-elizabeth-perkins-on-lolling-around-with-naked-men-and-some-dogs-in-season-2-exclusive-208137" rel="" target="_blank">surrounded by naked men</a> onscreen this year -- "was wonderful to work with," he says, teasing the interactions that will unfold between the two: "Our characters had a lot of scenes together and our dynamic was a really fun one to kind of explore. We found some nice, funny little running jokes that we were able to sprinkle throughout the episodes."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for that fake English accent, Whitehall says it's something he played around with from episode to episode. "Certainly, in some of the episodes, like the film noir one, I tried to do a little bit of a calibration of his cadence and make it sound a little bit more of that era," he reveals, referring to episode three, "Travis," which focuses on Hauser's character as he recounts his version of his events in a "mind film" that was styled as an homage to 1930s detective fiction writer Raymond Chandler. &nbsp;</p>

<p>And when it comes to Perkins' upcoming episode, which channels <em>Vertigo</em>, Whitehall did the same thing. "And likewise with the Hitchcock episode," he says, before explaining that "just overall, I wanted to do a slightly heightened version of my own accent."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Whitehall adds, "I do speak in quite a kind of clipped tone of voice, but I wanted to just put that a little bit more and, also, use a lot of British-isms and really kind of lean into those and pepper his dialogue with lots of affections that when you look back on it they feel like they're quite forced."&nbsp;</p>

'The Afterparty': Jack Whitehall on Streaking and Seducing Elizabeth Perkins in Season 2 (Exclusive)

<p><a href="https://www.etonline.com/sinead-oconner-dead-at-56-inside-her-public-struggles-and-private-tragedies-208722" rel="" target="_blank">Sinéad O'Connor, who became an international star</a> in 1990 with her cover of Prince’s "Nothing Compares 2 U," has died at age 56, according to multiple reports. The <a href="https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/2023/07/26/sinead-oconnor-acclaimed-dublin-singer-dies-aged-56/" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Irish Times</em></a> was first to report the news. No cause of death has yet been reported.</p>

<p>"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," her family confirmed in a <a href="https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2023/0726/1396681-sinead-o-connor/" rel="" target="_blank">statement to RTE</a>. "Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."</p>

<p>Born in Glenageary, Ireland in 1966, O'Connor went on to become one of the country’s most prominent musicians, joining the ranks of U2, Enya, and The Cranberries, all of whom achieved worldwide fame in the '80s and '90s.</p>

<p>O'Connor's personal life, however, was marred by tragedy and struggles with mental illness. Her son, Shane,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/sinead-oconnors-17-year-old-son-shane-has-died-after-going-missing-in-ireland-177477" rel="" target="_blank">died by suicide at 17</a> in January 2022 after going missing in Ireland, and the singer publicly threatened suicide herself multiple times in recent years.</p>

<p>Her solo career started when she was signed to Ensign Records and hired Fachtna O'Ceallaigh, U2’s former head of Mother Records, as her manager. In 1987, O'Connor released her first album, <em>The Lion and the Cobra</em>, earning college radio play in the U.S. and a GRAMMY nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.</p>

<p>It wasn’t until her second album, <em>I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got</em>, that O'Connor achieved international recognition. The critically acclaimed album was nominated for four GRAMMY awards, winning Best Alternative Music Performance, and sold seven million copies worldwide.</p>

<p>It also featured the 1990 hit, "Nothing Compares 2 U," O'Connor’s arrangement and cover of a record composed by Prince for one of his side projects. The song was accompanied by a video of the singer starkly crying in front of the camera, quickly becoming a staple on MTV and making her the first female artist to win the network’s Video Music Award for Video of the Year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Initially, Prince, who was not involved in the production, was a fan of the cover. "I love it, it's great!" he said of her version in a 1990 <em>Rolling Stone</em> cover interview. "I look for cosmic meaning in everything. I think we just took that song as far as we could, then someone else was supposed to come along and pick it up." But the relationship between both singers eventually soured.</p>

<p>O'Connor later went public with accusations that Prince physically threatened her. "It spoiled the song completely for me. I feel a connection with the song, but the experience was a very disturbing one," she told <em>Rolling Stone</em> in 1991. "I'm just very angry with him."</p>

<p>In November 2014, the singer explained to the Norwegian station NRK what happened when the two met. "He summoned me to his house -- and it’s foolish to do this to an Irish woman -- he said he didn’t like me saying bad words in interviews. So, I told him to f**k off."</p>

<p>"He got quite violent," O'Connor said. "I had to escape out of his house at five in the morning. He packed a bigger punch than mine."</p>

<p>Despite the attention that followed the hit single, O'Connor grew noticeably uncomfortable with the spotlight, with controversy following most of her career.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Shortly after she went No. 1, O'Connor was criticized for refusing to perform live if the U.S. national anthem was played before her concert, with Frank Sinatra threatening to "kick her a**." The singer also refused to accept her four GRAMMY nominations and win, skipping the 1991 ceremony. She also backed out of her first <em>Saturday Night Live</em> performance to protest Andrew Dice Clay’s appearance.</p>

<p>"It's not like I got up in the morning and said, 'Okay, now let's start a new controversy,'" O'Connor told <em>Rolling Stone</em> in 1991. "I don't do anything in order to cause trouble. It just so happens that what I do naturally causes trouble. And that's fine with me. I'm proud to be a troublemaker."</p>

<p>On Oct. 3, 1992, O'Connor was the musical guest on <em>SNL</em>. During an a cappella rendition of Bob Marley’s "War," of which she altered the words to focus on child sex abuse, the singer ripped a photo of Pope John Paul II. The performance was met with complete silence in the studio, while NBC was flooded with calls of complaints the following morning. She later told <em>Salon</em> in a 2002 interview that she wouldn’t have changed anything about the <em>SNL</em> performance.</p>

<p>In the years to follow, O’Connor took a vocal stance against the Catholic Church. In 1995, she made an unannounced appearance on the British late-night series, <em>After Dark</em>, and later appeared on <em>Anderson Cooper 360</em> to speak out about the sexual abuse scandal in Ireland. She also published several op-eds, labeling the Vatican as a “nest of devils” in the <em>Sunday Independent</em>.</p>

<p>In 2013, O'Connor openly criticized Miley Cyrus for her sexual messages and warned her of the dangers facing women in the music industry. “Women are to be valued for so much more than their sexuality. We aren’t merely objects of desire,” she wrote. "I would be encouraging you to send healthier messages to your peers." Cyrus responded with a series of tweets that compared her to Amanda Bynes, who had become known for her erratic behavior and rants on Twitter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following Prince’s death in April 2016, O'Connor accused Arsenio Hall of supplying the late performer with drugs in a post on Facebook. He was "a long time hard drug user," she wrote, adding he "got his drugs over the decades" from Hall. The former late-night host filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit in response.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She later <a href="www.etonline.com/news/211212_sinead_o_connor_apologizes_for_accusing_arsenio_hall_of_giving_prince_drugs" target="_blank">apologized for</a>&nbsp;the accusations against Hall.</p>

<p>Her private life wasn’t any less bumpy. O’Connor married multiple times, first to music producer John Reynolds, who worked on several of her albums and then to journalist Nick Sommerland in 2001. Their marriage lasted three years. O’Connor married a third time, to her longtime friend, Steve Cooney. Shortly after separating from Cooney in 2011, the singer wed therapist Barry Herridge.</p>

<p>O’Connor had&nbsp;four kids. Her son, Jake Reynolds, was conceived during her first marriage. She became embroiled in a long custody battle with journalist John Waters, who was the father of her daughter, Roisin Waters. She had her third and fourth child -- Shane Lunny and Yeshua Francis Neil Bonadio -- with two different partners in the years following.</p>

<p>In a 2000 interview, O’Connor told <em>Curve</em> magazine she was a lesbian only to later clarify that she was "not in a box of any description." In 2005, she furthered clarified her sexuality, telling <em>EW</em> that she was "three-quarters heterosexual, a quarter gay."</p>

<p>On her 33rd birthday in December 1999, O'Connor attempted suicide. She later revealed on a 2007 broadcast of <em>The Oprah Winfrey Show</em> that had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003. Though, the singer said that she had since gotten three second opinions, informing her she was not bipolar.</p>

<p>The outspoken musician opened up about her childhood trauma during a <a href=" https://www.etonline.com/sinead-oconnor-claims-her-mother-ran-torture-chamber-talks-abuse-dr-phil-interview-87126" target="_blank">2017 interview</a> with Dr. Phil where she accused her mother of physical and sexual abuse. "She ran a torture chamber," O'Connor said of her late mother who died when she was 19. "It was a torture chamber. She was a person who took delight, would smile in hurting you."</p>

<p>In 2018, O'Connor announced that she converted to Islam. She also changed her name to Shuhada' Sadaqat, and continued to criticize the Catholic church and religious theologies.</p>

<p>While O'Connor went on to release 10 studio albums over the course of her career -- the last being <em>I’m Not Bossy, I’m the Boss</em> in 2014 – none of them matched the success of <em>I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got</em>. It could be argued that the controversy surrounding the singer, especially at the beginning of her career, pushed away fans. However, in talking with <em>Rolling Stone</em>, she didn’t feel that way.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I don't think it's hurt me at all. Otherwise, we wouldn't be doing this interview for the Readers and Critics Poll, <em>would</em> we? I don't look at all the things that happened as being disruptions or disturbances. I look at them as being incidents where I expressed how I felt about something, about what I saw to be the truth. And sometimes a lot of people didn't agree with me -- which is to be expected."</p>

Sinéad O'Connor, 'Nothing Compares 2 U' Singer, Dead at 56

<p>After a two-year hiatus, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/heels" rel="" target="_blank"><em>Heels</em></a> is finally back with season 2 as it continues to tell the story of a smalltown, family-owned wrestling organization. At the center of the Starz sports drama are Jack and Ace Spade (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/stephen-amell" rel="" target="_blank">Stephen Amell</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/alexander-ludwig" rel="" target="_blank">Alexander Ludwig</a>, respectively), two rivaling brothers fighting over their late father's legacy and their own, individual success.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ahead of <em>Heels</em>' return with new episodes on Friday, July 28, the two actors sat down with ET's Denny Directo to discuss what's to come for the Spade brothers as well as their own, off-screen bond that involves on-set cuddle sessions and experiences with fatherhood.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Picking up after the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/stephen-amell-and-alexander-ludwig-on-why-heels-is-unlike-anything-theyve-done-before-exclusive" rel="" target="_blank">events of season 1</a>, <em>Heels</em> begins with the Duffy Wrestling League experiencing an upswing in popularity after a successful showing at the South Georgia State Fair, prompting a potential new deal with a streaming service that may guarantee their survival.&nbsp;But just as things seem to be moving forward, Ace decides to leave Duffy and his brother, Jack, behind for a new opportunity to step out on his own.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Led by showrunner and executive producer Mike O'Malley, who also plays Charlie Gully, the season 2 cast includes Alison Luff as Staci Spade, Mary McCormack as Willie Day, Kelli Berglund as Crystal Tyler, Allen Maldonado as Rooster Robbins, Chris Bauer as Wild Bill Hancock, Trey Tucker as Bobby Pin as well as Emmy Raver-Lampman as Jen Lussier and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/josh-segarra-on-stripping-down-for-the-other-two-and-plans-to-return-in-scream-7-exclusive-203308" rel="" target="_blank">fellow wrestling aficionado</a> Josh Segarra as Brooks Rizzo.</p>

<p>"The first season ended with Ace walking out of the ring. The second season starts with him walking out of the arena," Amell said, teasing that the beginning of season 2 shows audiences where Jack and Ace are now that they are not together. For Amell, it was a fun opportunity to push his character, especially in the wake of finding himself alone at a time when "things should be good," he said, adding that he then "goes about trying to figure out why that happened and then make some changes."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As for Ace, he's "a mess," Ludwig teased, explaining that "he's just this little boy that is just so traumatized by this really, really horrific event. And what I love about season 2 is you, for the first time, really get to experience what the brothers experienced." As a result, especially after stepping out on his own, Ace "is on his own journey, trying to figure out who he is, who he's going to be," the actor continued, adding that the character is "trying to redefine himself as a human being and also a wrestler."</p>

<p>Given the intense dynamic between the two brothers onscreen, it's not surprising that, off-screen, the two actors lean on each other both physically and mentally to bring the series to life in front of the cameras.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I do lean on Stephen a lot," Ludwig revealed. "This person, especially with wrestling, he really understands a lot. I've been fortunate enough to work with a lot of Hall of Fame wrestlers throughout my career that I can lean on, but Stephen is the one who is there." The actor added, "He comes to me all the time. Like, we have cuddle sessions and we'll just talk about how we're doing in life and I'm kind of his therapist."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I have leaned on Alexander a lot, both personally and professionally. I really admire his work ethic," Amell said, confirming the tight relationship between the two co-stars.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Helping cement that bond is the fact that they're both now fathers, with Amell <a href="https://www.etonline.com/arrows-stephen-amell-and-wife-welcome-second-child-185617" rel="" target="_blank">welcoming his second child</a> with wife Cassandra Jean in May 2022 while Ludwig and his wife, Lauren Dear, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/alexander-ludwig-welcomes-baby-daughter-four-weeks-early-as-he-rushes-to-delivery-from-out-of-state" rel="" target="_blank">just welcomed their first child</a> in April of this year.</p>

<p>"My son was born during the second season. And yeah, that was challenging," Amell shared, before adding that his son, Bowen, is "great."</p>

<p>As for Ludwig, fatherhood "is the greatest thing ever," he said. "I might have thought that having a kid would be more stressful – and, of course, there are moments – but it honestly was just, like, a huge weight off my shoulders." He added that "it's so easy to get caught up in the hamster wheel of this business and nothing else matters… But [my daughter], she is my everything. And my wife has just been a super mom, so it's been incredible."&nbsp;</p>

<p>With both now raising kids, conversations about fatherhood "naturally" came up on set. But Ludwig revealed that the best advice Amell ever gave him wasn't related to parenting, it was actually over his engagement to Dear, whom he married in 2020.&nbsp;"The one piece of advice I really remember – and it just stuck with me – was actually when I got engaged. Stephen had really good advice, and I've since passed it onto friends who've gotten engaged," Ludwig shared, before recalling that Amell said, "Once you get engaged, don't call anybody. Just spend that time with her."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And it was actually the greatest advice because we did that. We actually didn't call anybody that entire night. And it was just us and it was really, really special to, like, sit in that together before inevitably you call 100 people and tell them what happened," he concluded.&nbsp;</p>

Several champions who were expected to participate in the annual Tournament of Champions have announced that they will not cross the picket line if the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/event/strike" rel="" target="_blank">2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike</a> continues into the fall.&nbsp;</p>

<p>And now, it seems that production on the postseason has been delayed amid the ongoing strike, ET has learned. Sony Pictures TV, which produces the series, said it "never had any intention" to film Tournament of Champions for season 39, which would have taped in late August and September, until the strike has been resolved.</p>

<p>Additionally, <em>Jeopardy!</em> is planning to use material from prior seasons -- "featuring the best of our WGA written material"&nbsp;-- when it starts taping episodes for its 40th installment. The series will move forward with "produce original episodes" before revisiting the annual competition.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Among the returning champions who have pledged solidarity with the striking writers, which includes those who work on <em>Jeopardy!</em>, are Ben Chan, Cris Pannullo, Hannah Wilson, Ray Lalonde and Troy Meyer.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In fact, it was Lalonde -- winner of 13 games and member of IATSE, a union representing film, TV and theater crew workers -- who first revealed that the game show was "making contingency plans to start filming the next season of the show with old and/or recycled material if the WGA strike remains unresolved."&nbsp;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Jeopardy/comments/155wvzw/starting_the_season_during_the_wga_strike/" rel="" target="_blank">In a Reddit post</a>, he wrote, "I believe that the show’s writers are a vital part of the show and they are justified in taking their job action to secure a fair contract for themselves and their fellow WGA members. As a supporter of the trade union movement, a union member’s son and a proud union member myself, I have informed the show’s producers that if the strike remains unresolved I will not cross a picket line to play in the tournament of champions."</p>

<p>By going public with his plans to abstain from filming, Lalonde hopes he can "influence some future decision to proceed without the writers and to encourage any others in the community who feel the same way to speak out as well," adding that "a few small voices may not change any minds but we can try."</p>

<p>Soon after Lalonde posted his plan to Reddit, the four other champions responded in support, with Meyer, who has won six games, stating, "I stand with Ray!"&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As I have already told Ray personally, though like all of us I am a huge <em>Jeopardy</em> fan and it was a dream to appear on the show, I fully agree with his stance and will not participate in any games comprised of recycled clues while the WGA strike is in effect," wrote Pannullo, who has previously won 21 games.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chan, a nine-time winner, took to Reddit to thank Lalonde for speaking out. "Ray, thank you for taking this stand. If you are out, I am out," he shared, while Wilson, an eight-time winner, said she also planned to sit out. "I’ll stand with you, Ray! A TOC with all recycled clues doesn’t sound like much fun to play in, anyway."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since May, Hollywood's writers, including those who script the clues for <em>Jeopardy!</em>, have been on strike after failing to come to terms on a new contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Some of the major issues involve higher wagers, increased residuals from streaming services and regulation surrounding the use of AI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the time, the final episodes of season 39 were still being filmed, with <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/mayim-bialik" rel="" target="_blank">Mayim Bialik</a> reportedly <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/05/writers-strike-jeopardy-mayim-bialik-1235359858/" rel="" target="_blank">declining to fulfill her hosting duties</a> in support of the writers, prompting <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/ken-jennings" rel="" target="_blank">Ken Jennings</a> to fill in.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, <em>Jeopardy!</em> writers Michele Loud and Billy Wisse <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/wga-writers-speak-out-studios-execs-picket-line-1235601261/" rel="" target="_blank">spoke to <em>Variety</em></a> about the strike. "Our words are on the screen every night. There is no <em>Jeopardy!</em> without writers. Without us it’s just an empty blue screen," Loud said while Wisse added that they were fighting to be "fairly compensated for the labor you give."&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>Jeopardy!</em>&nbsp;is reportedly set to return with season 40 on Sept. 11 while a primetime version of the game show, <em>Celebrity Jeopardy!</em>, has also been set for the fall on ABC.</p>

<p>When it specifically comes to the Tournament of Champions, which is part of the postseason competition, and the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, a spokesperson for the show addressed those concerns in a statement shared with ET.</p>

<p>"<em>Jeopardy!</em> never had any intention of producing a Tournament of Champions for season 39 until the strike is resolved," the statement reads. "Further, no contestants from season 39 have been contacted regarding their availability for any postseason tournaments, including the TOC. The <em>Jeopardy!</em> postseason represents the pinnacle of our competition, and it should feature our strongest players playing our toughest original material."</p>

<p>"<em>Jeopardy!</em> has a long history with and tremendous respect for the WGA and our writers. We have always been careful to honor our WGA agreements and we would never air game material not created by WGA writers," the statement continues. "However, just as we did, led by Alex Trebek, during the 2007-2008 strike, we will deliver first-run episodes again this fall to more than 200 affiliate stations nationwide. Our current plan is to go into a holding pattern of sorts, pushing back the season 39 postseason to first produce original episodes featuring the best of our WGA written material."</p>

<p>The statement concludes by saying, "Everyone at <em>Jeopardy!</em> hopes that the guilds and the AMPTP can reach a fair resolution quickly. Celebrity <em>Jeopardy!</em> will return on ABC this fall with original material written by WGA writers before the strike. <em>Jeopardy!</em> and <em>Celebrity Jeopardy!</em> are covered under the SAG-AFTRA Network Code, which remains in effect."</p>
